Reaching the Unreached with Health Services and Information
Somalia | UgandaTanzania | Nigeria | Ghana | USA
Dear Friends, Partners, and Donors:

On October 10, 2018, three girls now young women in Wakiso, Uganda redefined staying focused inspiring several young people to not give up.

Shamusa Nabankema, 20; Jamilah Nakiwembe 16; and Rehemah Namagga 18, made us proud. Forced to drop out of school at a young age, they had limited writing and reading skills and a fairly low sense of self-esteem. Despite the odds and challenges, they never let go of their dreams to go to school and graduate one day. Through CSI's YES program for marginalized youth, they graduated in Fashion and Design from Namasuba College of Commerce. With your support, CSI made that dream possible!

When we hear from mothers, girls, fathers, community leaders, family members about the impact of CSI and how our culturally acceptable interventions are saving and making their lives better, it is a strong reminder to stay focused.

Onward,
CSI Founders

CSI Somalia continues to support the Federal Government of Somalia to rebuild and stabilize the country. In collaboration with local and international partners, CSI Somalia is addressing interconnected and culturally complex issues from the household to the national level. Specifically targeting women and girls' education, empowerment, social status, literacy, and health, our trained staff on the ground are in communities, schools, universities, and places of worship. Our trained staff educate various groups on topics such as maternal health, nutrition, and the long-term trauma of female genital mutilation/cutting.
