ACT OPPORTUNITIES
The next official ACT is scheduled on Saturday, December 8, 2018. The registration deadline is November 2, 2018. You can register at act.org.

TRANSCRIPTS
Seniors who are sending applications to schools have two options for sending their transcripts to their schools of choice. Transcripts are not acquired through Student Services. Option 1 is to use
parchment.com. Seniors have received information on how to acquire transcripts from the Guidance Office. Students will need to create an account and follow the prompts. Students will choose the school of their choice and pay for them through parchment.com. Cost for the transcript is $4.00.

Option 2 is to utilize the Common App. Not all colleges use the Common App, but if they do, students can create an account and send them to Mr. Dorn to complete. There are recommendations from Guidance and updates on course selections and GPA's. Mr. Dorn will download a transcript onto the Common App for the student and then the school or schools that use the Common App can access this information. There is no cost for this service.

ATHLETICS

FALL SPORTS WRAP-UP
Cross Country: Congratulations to junior Richard Schaefer for qualifying and competing in the WIAA State Cross Country meet this past October! He finished with the second fastest time for a Pacer runner at state. He was 75 out of 150 runners that qualified. Earlier in the month, senior Caleb Lash, junior Richard Schaefer and sophomores Lydia Zarling, Kyrie Patterson and Camren Cheney earned All Metro Classic Conference honors!

Football: The football season ended with the Pacers playing some very competitive football. Although the record showed a 1-8 finish, the Pacers were actually only minutes away from being playoff qualifiers. Coach Huebner believes that the young Pacers have progressed and with an off season of preparation will be playoff contenders in 2019! All-conference team information will be released in next month's newsletter.

Volleyball: The volleyball team wrapped its season with a loss in the first round of the WIAA tournament. The team regularly played 4 freshman and sophomores in the regular rotation. With a number of other key prospects coming up, the Pacers look to build toward the future. All-Conference team information will be released in next month's newsletter.

Soccer: The soccer team finished a fantastic season after claiming its 2nd straight WIAA Regional championship. It was the 7th Regional championship of Coach Hahm's career. Eight Shoreland players were named to Metro Classic All-Conference teams: Benjamin Barrett (1st team), Charlie Riley (1st team), T.J. Wojciechowski,(1st team), Gerardo Jacinto (2nd team), Derek Borchardt (honorable mention), Brandon Freitag (honorable mention), Luca Mantuano (honorable mention) and Gabriel Saldivar (honorable mention).

Winter Sports: Girls' basketball tips off on Monday, November 5. Boys' basketball and wrestling will begin their seasons on November 12.

SPORTS PHYSICALS
Reminder - please turn in your sports physicals or alternate year forms for participation in winter or spring sports. Players may not practice or participate until their forms are turned in.

CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY FOOD DRIVE
National Honor Society is conducting their annual food drive. This year we will donate some food to the local food pantry and give the rest to Pacer families in need. If you, a friend or family you know is in need, please call the school office to arrange a pickup time at 262-859-2595. Food may be picked up Monday - Wednesday the week of Thanksgiving. After Thanksgiving, pickup may continue until Christmas break or while supplies last.

STUDENT COUNCIL NO SHAVE NOVEMBER COMPETITION
Student Council is holding a No Shave November Competition this month. For the first time ever, the company Beardsconsin is donating gift baskets to the winner from each class, including the faculty! Find out more about Beardsconsin at
www.beardsconsin.com

STUDENT COUNCIL VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT
Student Council is hosting a volleyball tournament on Wednesday, November 14 at 6:30 p.m. in the Shoreland gymnasium. There is a $10 entrance fee for each team that signs up. Each team can have a minimum of 6 players and a maximum of 12 players with the number of boys and girls within one of each other. There will even be a prize for the winning team! We hope to see you there!

ROBOTICS
The Robotics Program is off to a great start. We were hoping for two teams and ended up with five! We, therefore, have an even greater need for mentors. Mentors do not need any robotics or programming experience. They could help by simply supervising lab times and offering encouragement. Mentors could also get more involved with offering advice and guidance on robot development as well as attending events with their team.

We are also excited to announce that Shoreland will be hosting the Wisconn Valley VRC Tournament, the first robotics tournament ever hosted at Shoreland. This will take place on Saturday, January 12. We will need a pretty large pool of volunteers to make this event run smoothly. This will include people to help setup on Friday night, as well as people to help check-in, prep fields, referee, and judge on Saturday. No experience is necessary as training will be provided for all jobs.

If you are interested in serving as a mentor or volunteering for the Wisconn Valley VRC Tournament, please contact Mr. Dan Nolte (
nolted@slhs.us) or Mr. Tim Mielke (mielket@slhs.us).
