Welcome to the November edition of our newsletter. We want to spread news of chess events for juniors in the region, so feel free to forward to friends and family to subscribe. Don't forget to enter the Notts County Championships (see below), and let us know if you want to promote an event!

Notts County Championships - U15 & U12

Venue: Nottingham High School
Date: Sunday 18th November, 9.30-4.30

Following the success of last year's event, we are running an Under 15 and Under 12 5-round ECF graded rapidplay. First prize £50 plus trophy, second prize £25. Enter online or download an entry form. These events run alongside the 2-day main championship, which juniors can of course enter!

British Rapidplay 2018

Venue: The Craiglands Hotel, Ilkley LS29 8RQ
Date: 24th-25th November

In addition to the main events, there is an Under 11 England trial qualifier on Saturday 24th and a Junior Open on Sunday 25th, these are both 5-round 1 day events. Time control is 20 minutes plus 10s increments throughout.

Leeds Junior Congress

Date: Saturday 1st December 2018, 10am start
Venue: Whingate Primary School, Leeds LS12 3DS
Entry fee: £10

ECF-graded sections for Open, U110 and U40. Part of the Yorkshire Junior Grand Prix, but each event is standalone.

We need between 4 and 6 players to take part in a weekend tournament. 5 standardplay games, FIDE-rated in Division 1 and including free coaching for Division 2 by experienced coaches!
