TFA 2019 Capitol Hill Fellows Program
The Capitol Hill Fellows Program is accepting nominations for this year-long program that will train and place a group of Teach For America alumni in full-time, paid, congressional staff positions on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. in late summer 2019.  The program offers Fellows incredible insights into the legislative process and an opportunity to gain experience in policy-making at the national level. Fellows participate in monthly professional development sessions to enhance the skills necessary to grow as policy leaders. In addition, Fellows are paid a stipend of $60,000, paid over 12 months, and have access to ongoing mentorship opportunities. Fellows do not lobby on behalf of Teach For America or work on issues related to Teach For America during this Fellowship, but instead work on issues assigned by a member of Congress or congressional committee.  Each Fellow cohort reflects the diversity of TFA; Fellows represent many states and both political parties.  You can nominate yourself or a friend here. Applications for the 2019 Capitol Hill Fellows Program are open December 3, 2018 and close January 31, 2019.

Alumni Highlights and Hall of Fame!
Nominate yourself or a friend today to be featured in the blast! We want to feature stories locally and nationally to showcase the amazing alumni work happening in our schools and communities and celebrate it. We know there are great things happening, but don't know all the stories and want you to have a platform to share the work of you and your networks. If you have seen some great alumni work, in our communities and schools let us know! This could be hitting a metric, seeing success in data, or a great event! If your story is chosen we will follow up with an interview and photo-shoot.

At Alumni Orientation alumni shared that they want to get to know other alumni and hear more about the great things they are doing. We also created a Hall of Fame for corps members and alumni to see some of the great alumni in the region. Check out the current Hall of Fame and fill out this survey to add or update your information or picture.
