The Lake Level Monitor

LOCSS Project Newsletter
October 2018
The Lake Observations by Citizen Scientists & Satellites project seeks to better understand how the quantity of water in lakes is changing.

LOCSS Is Expanding To Washington!

We are very excited to announce that we have expanded beyond the borders of North Carolina, and are now studying lakes in Washington state. We are currently studying 12 lakes in the state, with plans to study even more.
By the Numbers: We are monitoring 25 lakes in using 29 gauges. To date, 190 citizen scientists have submitted 1794 lake height measurements.

New Name and Logo

We've changed our project's name to better reflect the work we are doing to understand lakes.  The new name is Lake Observations by Citizen Scientists and Sattelites, or LOCCS for short.
