We are delighted to announce that the ZEALANDIA takahē assessment task for Achievement Standard 91158 has been to NZQA and received
its Quality Assured Assessment Materials (QAAM) trademark. This community study task is now held securely with BEANZ, where it can be accessed by teachers.
A suite of resources associated with the takahē community study has been developed by ZEALANDIA in collaboration with the Department
of Conservation Takahē Recovery Programme. The resources are currently with Science Learning Hub, being prepared for the national launch
in February.
If you are interested in discussing how your school could use this resource or would like an advance sample of these resources, please contact
Sue at sue.lum@visitzealandia.com
ZEALANDIA offers a 'takahē study' visit, which is run as a whole day programme. The day is broken into three sessions; the first session focusses on adaptations of and interrelationships between takahē and introduced mammals, the second is in the valley observing the takahē (and maybe their new chick!) followed by a final session unpacking the standard.
We will be running a PD session and field trip for teachers in February at ZEALANDIA. This will focus on the takahē study (Bio 2.6) and our stream study (Bio 2.1 and 3.1).
If you are interested in the PD session please email Sue at sue.lum@visitzealandia.com to register or for more information.
If you would like to book a 'takahē study ' or stream study for your class, we are taking bookings now for term one next year on education@visitzealandia.com
