Hi <<First Name>>!
‘Be your own superhero in your life and health’
This is my email tag line. I love this. It’s a reminder to me and hopefully to those who read it to take charge of your life and health. I always picture myself standing tall, hands on hips, big smile on my face as my cape and hair flying backwards in the wind. Maybe some shiney wristbands and boots. But I think I’ll skip the headband.
Personally Wonder Woman is my favorite. She’s strong, independent, athletic, compassionate and great clothes. Over the years I have a few trinkets with her on them. Including a box of mints.
Why a superhero? Who doesn’t need or want someone in their corner. How about that someone being you. It’s more than just putting on a cape. Although that does help. It’s about believing in you. Being your own support, your superhero.
We can be so hard on ourselves. Myself included. Critiquing yourself on what did or didn’t get done on your ‘todo’ list? You promised yourself to eat better, get more sleep or workout and it didn’t happen.
Emotional stresses you mentally ‘chew on’ can increases the digestive enzymes in you mouth and digestive system. Which can upset your digestion. Including speeding it up or slow it down. You can guess how you might feel from theses two different responses.
If you are ‘hashing over’ something or thinking of your endless ‘todo’ list, your sleep is impacted. Getting or stay asleep is a challenge. Which causes mental and physical exhaustion.
So let’s put on your superhero cape and have some fun. What? You don’t have one? Check out the link. Their quite easy to make. No sewing needed. I like to make superhero decals our of felt and just glue the design on. https://youtu.be/x-dvtKEsBFs
Create your own ‘tada’ list.
At the end of the day create a list of everything you did today.
- ate breakfast
- said thank you to …
- drank...glasses of water
- cleaned out sock drawer, including the single socks and ones with holes
- did one of those exercises Tina showed me
- focused on breath for a minute
