St. Alban's Episcopal Church
This Week at St. Alban's

Monday, October 29, 2018
Dear all,
I have few words for you today. Some days our prayers are too deep for words...
On my "to do" list is an interfaith leaders meeting at the offices of our state assembly member, to talk about how we respond to Saturday's terrorist killings at Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburg and the conditions that allow such hate to flourish, and an interfaith prayer vigil, led by the Jewish peace group, Bend the Arc, to be held at the Berkeley JCC (on Walnut, at Rose) at 8 pm tonight. (Please join me at the latter!)
At a the home of my friends on Saturday,
I checked in on the progress of a Monarch butterfly chrysalis we are watching. If you look very carefully at the photo here, you can see the beginnings of wings. Just a few weeks ago, it was a colorful (voraciously hungry) caterpillar. A reminder that transformation is possible in our world.
May we never cease to pray for peace, walk in humility, and work for justice and healing.
God be with you and all those beloved to you this week.
In love and gratitude,
Rev. Julie
