WHY: In celebration of Whales & Friend’s 32nd anniversary on Lincoln Ave, owners Christine Gonsalves and Steve King thought it would add to the whimsy and fun for the holidays to bring you a second location for all your gift shopping needs. So they are popping up your favorite gift store at South Shore Center across from Trabocco Kitchen & Cocktails.

Christine Gonsalves and Steve King founded the Whales & Friends on Lincoln Ave in Alameda that you know and love. Christine is the buyer and really knows our tastes and what will enhance our lives and the lives of the friends we care about. “Opening up the Whales & Friends popup means we can bring more joy to our Bay Area friends,” says Christine. “Over the years we became famous for having a delightful gift for anyone on your gift list – even the crazy uncle.”

Bay Area Residents Can Get their Greens Again!

Bay Area landmark restaurant Greens reopened on October 15 following a four-month closure due to a kitchen hood fire in June. They are extremely grateful for the outpouring of support from the local community while they restored the main dining room back to its original craftsmanship and repaired the kitchen.

Reservations are open! (415-771-6222) Greens is located at ort Mason Center, Landmark Building A, 2 Marina Blvd in San Francisco. Check out the menu!

Emeryville Art Exhibit Closes Sunday – Don’t Miss the Show!

This year 115 artists ignite the space with 165 works – including acrylics, ceramics, glasswork, multi-media installations, oil paintings, photographs, sculptures, textiles, woodcuts and poetry – at the 2018 Emeryville Art Exhibition, sponsored by Celebration of the ArtsThis is the largest group of artists in its 32-year history. The individual pieces demonstrate the diversity of Emeryville artists and show their engagement with a host of aesthetic, political and social concerns.
