The program will include works spanning five centuries: motets by William Byrd, Richard Dering and Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck; the WORLD PREMIERE performance of The World Becomes Home, a suite of three songs for Advent and Christmas by Canadian composer, Mark Sirett, with words by Wendy McLean; three carol arrangements by Mack Wilberg with organ, piano and handbell accompaniment; and settings of popular Christmas songs with rhythm section. The program will also include the lively music making of the University of Alberta Faculty of Education Handbell Ringers, playing 75 English handbells and 56 handchimes.
