President's Message

Hello Members,

I hope you all are well and enjoyed our show season. US Nationals just ended, and has inspired us to continue to promote our breed. We now turn our focus to 2019, as we plan, budget and prepare for next year. Please join a committee, run for the board of directors or plan to volunteer. We need you!

AHA convention is fast approaching. Take this time to review resolutions and send feedback to your representatives - myself, Madeline Erce, Nancy Miller, Deb Duick and Kevin Price. We are your delegates and your voice in our organization.

Before 2018 ends, we would love to share your results, stories and photos for this show season! E-mail photos and results to Karissa Held kheld@wisc.edu.

Lastly, mark your calendar for the WAHA annual meeting and awards banquet - Jan 19 at the Johnson Creek Community Center. We look forward to seeing you there!

Thank you,

Lerin Hendrickson

It has been so much fun watching everyone have fun showing, riding, and enjoying their Arabian Horses this summer. Although show season is coming to an end, I want to encourage the youth of our club to continue submitting their Youth Team Tournament points. Remember, those points need to be submitted a month after the show or the points will not be counted. If you have any more questions regarding Youth Team Tournament, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Just a reminder to all of those who want to continue with Youth Team Tournament, those teams are to be submitted, by me, before February 1st! I will be messaging those who I already have information for personally, but if you are not signed up and want to be for next show season please feel free to contact me! We would love to see more people and horses on the teams!

For those who have submitted their points, the top ten, reserve and champion will be awarded at the Annual Meeting in January! Please keep a lookout for that information! I will also be posting on Facebook for our youth meeting held at that event. I will be looking for the 2019 WAHA Youth Board! Please message me if you are interested!

Lastly, I want to encourage our youth to be active in this industry. Whether it be for the National, Regional, or our local WAHA Youth Board. I have been involved for many years and it has genuinely made me the person I am today! So, if you are interested in being involved or looking to start something, such as a judging team, hippology team, etc. with the WAHA Youth, please tell me about it! There are so many great opportunities for the youth in the Arabian Horse Industry! Ask me about how you can get involved!

Therapeutic riders from Horse Power Healing Center Josh Horne and Kelly Weyer, ecstatic to compete at their favorite horse show of the year!

Thank you to all the exhibitors that attended our Fall Colors Show held September 29th, 2018 in Waukesha, Wisconsin. We had some wonderful horses, riders, and handlers that attended and it was a pleasure to meet all the faces new and old.

The show committee wants to thank our judge Jamie Buedler who did a great job judging the wide variety and types of horses that attended. It certainly is no easy feat! Thank you to our show committee and volunteers for helping make the magic happen. We also greatly appreciate our class sponsors, thank you!

Shout out to our generous show sponsors who contributed hundreds of dollars in prizes and raffles:
