Women Sport for All Leaders Trained in 9 African Union Region 5 Countries
17 young women were selected to attend the event, from 9 of the 10 Region 5 countries according to their experience and facilitation skills. They were trained to act as Sport for All multipliers and themselves lead the “Women Leadership Through Sport for All Programme” in their respective countries. They will be responsible, back in their homeland, to further train 20 more Sport for All leaders each, and organise TAFISA Certified Leadership Courses in the 10 countries. | Read More...

TAFISA Secretary General Joins IOC Sport and Active Society Commission Meeting
TAFISA is proud to announce that Secretary General Wolfgang Baumann was again appointed by IOC President Thomas Bach member of the IOC Sport and Active Society Commission. The Sport and Active Society Commission (formerly the Sport for All Commission) advises the IOC Session, the IOC Executive Board and the IOC President on all the activities of the Olympic Movement that are related to using sport to improve physical activity in the population, giving access to sport as a right for all, and on engaging in sports activities with a special focus on youth. At its last meeting on January 13th, it was TAFISA's honour to present on the status of the IOC co-funded project Global Active Cities (GAC) as well as the results of a research project that was assigned to TAFISA by the IOC to inquire into the role and significance of Sport for All and physical activity within the global Olympic family with special focus on National Olympic Committees as well as International Federations. This meeting was the last one under the chairmanship of Dr Sam Ramsamy who resigned from his position as his term as an IOC member came to an end.

TAFISA Meets Sport for All Leaders in Saudi Arabia
In February 2019, TAFISA representatives visited Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to learn more about the work of the Saudi Mass Participation Federation and their vision to achieve 40% of the Nation being physically active by 2030. This exploratory meeting allowed discussions to take place regarding ways in which a partnership can be formed between TAFISA and the Saudi Mass Participation Federation to benefit the global Sport for All Movement. | Read More...

TAFISA's Mission 2030 Receives International Support
TAFISA's Mission 2030 is receiving international support as now organisations from 80 countries have officially voiced their support, with the latest signatories including the National Sports Council of Zambia, the Japanese Olympic Committee, the Myanmar Olympic Committee and the Saudi Federation of Mass Participation, among others.

Erasmus+ Projects - Conclusions and New Beginnings
The various Erasmus+ projects co-funded by the European Commission where TAFISA is involved are progressing towards their objectives. Project partners regularly meet to ensure the success of the project:
- As part of the FAIR project (Forum for Antidoping In Recreational sport), the second FAIR annual forum took place in Brussels, Belgium on November 22, 2018, bringing key European stakeholders around the table to discuss the issue of doping and food supplements usage at the grassroots level.
- Following a Europe-wide survey on existing good practices and initiatives towards inclusion at national and European levels, partners of the InSport project (Sport Inclusion: Full Paricipation in Sport by Persons with Disabilities) met on December 6-7 in Lisbon, Portugal.
- The PRIME project (Participation, Recreation and Inclusion through Martial Arts Education) reached its conclusion. One of the main outputs, the Practical Guide for Coaches, is available in English, French, German and Italian on the project's website.
- Keep Youngsters Involved ended with a Final Conference in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on March 14 & 15, where the outcomes of the project were presented to a wide European audience. Over the past two years the seven project partners collected 14 factors responsible of youth dropout from sport, together they designed a toolbox to tackle the problem, available on the project's webpage.
- TAFISA is proud to announce that the results of the Europe-wide survey led by ICSSPE and Sport and Citizenship, as well as all PACTE project (Promoting Active Cities Throughout Europe) partners including TAFISA, were released during the PACTE Active Education Workshop in Berlin, Germany, on 21 – 22 February 2019. The Executive Summary of the study “Physical Activity Policies at Municipal Level in Europe” is available here.
- TAFISA joined the BeActive Beach Game project led by Latvian Sports Federation Council, which just started with a kick off meeting in Rome, Italy on February 19-21. The project will develop a concept and guidebook for the organisation of "Beach Games" with an inclusive Sport for All approach, and will pilot the concept with Beach Games events in Latvia and in Portugal.

2018 was a strong year with five successful TAFISA CLCs hosted, training over 230 current and future Sport for All leaders in their respective countries:
- 9 - 14 April, Quatre Bornes, Mauritius
- 16 - 21 May, Almaty, Kazakhstan
- 16 - 21 May, Brasov, Romania
- 5 - 9 June, New Delhi, India
- 11 - 16 October, Mashhad, Iran
2019 will keep up the pace, with the six following CLCs already scheduled:

- 17 - 20 June, Portugal
- 27 - 29 September, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
- 6 - 10 October, Delhi, India
