Farewell, Sam!

Sam Mosher, Senior Desktop Support Analyst since March 2016, will be leaving us at the end of October for a new position at Humboldt State University.

Sam has been a tremendous asset for Social Sciences IT and our customers, and he will be sorely missed. In addition to his excellent work primarily with the Center for Mind and Brain, Sam led our efforts to streamline our management of Mac systems, both for our college and campus-wide, as part of the Aggie Desktop project.

Please join us in wishing Sam all the best in his next endeavors!

If you write or collaborate on code, you are likely already familiar with GitHub for version control, sharing and collaboration, issue tracking, and many other functions.

But did you know that UC Davis provides a GitHub "organization" that's free for any UC Davis affiliate to use?

Compared to a free account, the main advantage of joining the UC Davis organization on GitHub is that it allows for private code repositories that are visible only to invited members.

If you want to host a static HTML or code-generated website, GitHub also offers the GitHub Pages service.

Duo Multi-Factor Authentication: UC Davis is rolling out Duo multi-factor authentication to all faculty, staff and students in the coming months. More information about Duo is available at the Move to Duo website.

Adobe Acrobat Licensing Changes: Adobe is requiring us to re-license all copies of Adobe Acrobat Pro (now called Adobe Acrobat DC) across campus. Expect to see more information about this change within the next week.
