Remembering Joy

<<First Name>>,

Joy Lynn Williams, 62 of Camas WA passed away peacefully on October 27, 2018 after a short illness.

Joy, and her twin sister Judy, blessed the home of Dorothy (Dodi) Iris Gibson and Victor (Vic) Leroy Hutchison. They were born in Seattle, WA on May 16, 1956. She grew up in the Phinney Ridge area of Seattle before moving to Lynnwood, where she graduated from Meadowdale High School in 1974. Joy went on to earn an Associate’s Degree in Accounting and worked at several companies, the latest being Asthma, Allergy, and Dermatology Associates, in her chosen field.

Joy married Donnie Ray Williams on September 26, 1975 and raised their two children, Christopher Ray and Tina Lynn in Colorado Springs before coming home to Washington State. Joy was actively involved in her church where she had a core of ladies whom she enjoyed coffee and quilting with; they included Leslie, Debbie, Sherry, Sally, Jean, Norma, and others.

Joy was proceeded in death by her mother (Dodi), her father (Vic), and her twin sister, Judy Lee Rice.

Joy is survived by her husband Donnie Williams, her son Christopher, daughter, Tina, daughter-in-law Shelby and son-in law, Don Wheeler.  She is also survived by her brother Jerry Hutchison (Ronna) and by her grandchildren Christian Wheeler, Hayley Wheeler, Nathanial Wanzer, Michelle Wheeler, Christopher (CJ) Wheeler, and Mallory Wheeler and numerous friends and extended family.

A memorial service will be held at Camas Friends Church on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 2:00pm with a reception immediately following.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Ray Hickey House. Joy will be missed by many and remembered fondly by all who knew her.

CFC at the WHO: Nov 30-Dec 2.

Sign-ups are live: CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP

Camas Friends' weekend to host the Winter Hospitality Overflow is Nov.30-Dec. 2nd. We have committed to volunteering at the evening and morning shifts, from 6pm-8am, on Friday evening to Sunday morning. The WHO is a men's shelter at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Vancouver. This is a very practical way we can show others our love and care in helping those who need safe, warm shelter. Joy Gault, the organizer of this program, will be coming to speak to the meeting on Nov. 11 about the program.

Tomorrow! Thursday, Nov. 1st

We will be cleaning out and organizing the Fireplace/AA room.

Please come in the morning or afternoon. We will be taking a break at noon-1:30pm for lunch and to give the noon meeting their space. We will begin about 9am and finish about 3:30pm. Just show up or call Kendra at the office (360.834.2446) if you have any questions.

Text of the Week

Ruth 1:15-18 (NRSV)

15 So she said, “See, your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and to her gods; return after your sister-in-law.” 16 But Ruth said,

“Do not press me to leave you
    or to turn back from following you!
Where you go, I will go;
    where you lodge, I will lodge;
your people shall be my people,
    and your God my God.
17 Where you die, I will die—
    there will I be buried.
May the Lord do thus and so to me,
    and more as well,
if even death parts me from you!”

18 When Naomi saw that she was determined to go with her, she said no more to her.
