The new Mobotix NAS and MxManagementCenter (MxMC) 2.0 software update will both be released during November 2018. The NAS range is available for order from Suretek and MxMC 2.0 will be issued as a free download.
Here's a quick overview of the new releases...
Mobotix NAS
What sets the Mobotix NAS apart from standard NAS (e.g. Synology), is that it's pre-configured with a special "MxMC interface firmware" that allows both H.264 and MxPEG video channels from Mobotix and ONVIF-compliant cameras to be stored for viewing and playback via an MxMC 2.0 workstation.
MxManagementCenter (MxMC) 2.0
The release of MxMC 2.0 with Mobotix NAS is timely because this is the first version of MxMC that allows centralised viewing, searching and playback of both H.264 and MxPEG video recordings from one location.
According to Mobotix, MxMC 2.0 will be available for download within the next 2 weeks.
MxMC 2.0 Licenses
Please note that software license packs now apply to this latest version of MxManagementCenter:
Integration Starter License (ISL)
This is required to view/playback H.264 video streams on an MxMC 2.0 workstation. The ISL license (order code: Mx-SW-MC-STARTER) carries a small fee and supports up to 9 x H.264 channels. Additional licenses can be purchased if more H.264 cameras need to be added.
Advanced Configuration License (ACL)
This optional upgrade is a time saving feature that allows users to access around 75% of the camera's web settings and apply changes across 80 devices at the same time from within the MxMC 2.0 interface, rather than having to use the camera's web interface.
Initially the Advanced Config option will be available only for Mobotix (Mx6) cameras with firmware MX-V5.2.0.x (or higher) installed. According to Mobotix in Q1 his option will also be made available for earlier MX camera models within Q1 of 2019.
Note: Mobotix will be giving away the Advanced Config License free-of-charge until 31 December 2018, after which it will be available for a license fee.
