1. SCARE-O Wednesday night 6pm

Come along next Wednesday night to SCARE-O! Score orienteering event where you need to collect all 15 controls in order 1-15 or 15-1. Controls are spread over 3 maps so be prepared to be “scared” witless with confusion. Dress up and receive a time bonus. 
Mass start from 6:15. Be there at 6pm ready to go.  
Overall individual winner, best dressed costume, and first family group win a prize. 

Goodies and spooks hidden at some controls so keep your eyes open. All (including newcomers) 
Welcome. $2 for maps.

2. Girls only orienteering day

Like last year, Orienteering SA will be hosting a girls only training day for girls aged 12-18. This is an awesome opportunity for girls to try orienteering in a safe and supportive environment. All girls aged 12-18 welcome to attend, no experience needed. Get out and have a go!

Where: Hazelwood park, Burnside, Davenport Terrace

When: 17th November 1pm-3pm

Cost: Free

3. Presentation Night – 18th November.
Mark your diaries  to make sure you don’t miss out on the fun.
5pm at Glenunga Hub (between the ovals and sandwiched between Conyngham and Lestrange St in Glenunga. )
Our new coach Oliver will be planning a fun orienteering activity to start the celebrations.
Presentations will take place for Orienteer of the Year, John Hall award for Service to Orienteering in SA, Trophies for most improved junior and course setter award for 2018.
Then share tea (and play in the water playground if it is hot) with your orienteering friends.

4. Junior Arrows welcome day

We are looking for new members aged 11+ so come along to our ID day to give orienteering a go. 

Bring water, hat and comfy clothes for running.
No experience needed. Current Southern Darts members turning 12 in 2019 welcome to attend.
Where: Wadmore Park, Athelstone
When: 1st December 10am-12pm
Cost: Free


5. BALLARAT SPRINT WEEKEND, NOVEMBER 24-25
Featuring three amazing races over two intense days, the weekend will determine the winners of Sprint Into Spring, and the Victorian Sprint Champions for 2018.
 
Saturday November 24 - Sprint Into Spring races 6 and 7, Federation University Mt Helen
  • The culmination of 6 weeks of sprint racing, these morning and afternoon events will provide a fantastic finale to Sprint Into Spring
  • Enter on the day at Registration, open from 10.30am
 
Sunday November 25 - Victorian Sprint Champs, Ballarat School of Mines
  • Possibly the most complex sprint map seen in Australia, this event will test every skill.   This will be an unforgettable Sprint experience.
  • The Vic Champs is PRE ENTRY ONLY.  Entries are NOW OPEN on Eventor, and close on Wednesday November 21. Start times are pre-allocated and will be published before the race.  You must enter the appropriate age group.
 
SI AIR punching will be activated for all three races!  If you own a SIAC stick, make sure you enter the Champs with the correct SI number. If you don’t, you can hire one for just $5.50 for the whole weekend – add it to your Champs entry, and collect it on Saturday morning at registration.  SI AIR is optional; you may use your normal SI stick if you prefer.
 
PRESENTATIONS will be made at the conclusion of the Champs on Sunday.  Awards will be made to the winners of each Age class in the Championship race, and the Sprint Into Spring series winners will receive their Jerseys and certificates.

6. Entries are now OPEN for the Easter Carnival 2019
With 7 quality orienteering experiences in just 9 days now is the time to block out your calendar and plan to be in WA to experience the great range and variety of events on offer. With the Australia 3 Day Championships, the Australian Sprint Championships and the Australian Middle Distance Championships there will be something for everyone to enjoy. Plus, there is a bonus sprint relay on Good Friday and still time for seeing the sights of Peth and WA.
 
So, book your flights, plan a road trip or even catch the train. Just make sure you are here to enjoy it all. Discover the complete event program on the Carnival website, including all the venues at:
