Auxiliary Auction
Join us for our auxiliary's largest event of the year!!! I am super excited! We are in the process of collecting items for auction. If you would like to donate, please bring your items to post by November 10. If you need someone to pick them up, please reply to this newsletter or call/text me 206.817.3533. Delia is coordinating appetizers, please contact her or reply/text/call with your name/phone and I'll pass your info to Delia. Volunteers needed on post November 10, 11 am; November 16, after bingo, table setup; November 17, 11 am, auction items setup; and cleanup November 17, 9 pm including resetting the tables. I could really use your help at any or all. Tickets are available at canteen now or at the door, $10 each or $18 for two. Doors open at 530 pm on November 17, with silent auction until 7 pm, followed by dessert and live auctions. Appetizers available while supplies last.

Commander Letter
November is here already and there are many things planned for the month. Western Conference is Nov. 1-3 in Vancouver. Hope you are adjusting to the time change and checked your smoke detectors. All submissions for Youth Essay, Patriots Pen, Voice of Democracy, and Teacher of the Year are due tomorrow, Oct 31, and we should have totals by our November meeting. Fun to helping judge the successful children's Halloween party that was well planned by Diana Hammond and other auxiliary members. Everyone had a good time. Come out and join us in the Veteran's Day Parade on the 12th at 1pm. We will be staging at 12:30 at the bottom of Midway and Pioneer. We also have presentations at Coupeville Middle School and City Hall. Contact the Commander for more information. May your Thanksgiving be bountiful with your loved ones.

Rider News
Hello to one and all! The riders have plenty going on and we are planning for much more in the near future. We participated in "Ringing of the Bell" in Port Townsend on the 20th of October, and already looking forward to the next one in April. Everyone encouraged to attend. Want to know more about it? Ask a rider!
We have been invited to participate in the 53rd Annual Veterans Day Parade in Auburn on November 10th. We will ride out on Friday, November 9th, visiting SeaTac Airport USO to donate proceeds from our September 8th Pancake Breakfast. Then, head to Auburn for the night.
On November 24th, the "Warborn" Motorcycle Club will be hosting Thanksgiving Dinner for some active duty military men and women on post. We are ready to assist them and looking forward to doing so. If you'd like to volunteer at dinner or donate towards the cost of food, please contact a rider.

Service Officer News
VFW Service Officers are trained experts, helping veterans develop their case with ease by reviewing and applying current law, pertinent legislation, regulations and medical histories. As skilled professionals, we assist in filing for disability compensation, rehabilitation and education programs, pension and death benefits, and employment and training programs. Furthermore, we won’t hesitate to request hearings before the VA and the Board of Veterans Appeals to present oral arguments when needed.
Our cadre of highly-trained and professional advocates help veterans cut through bureaucratic red tape. VA reports veterans represented by the VFW have recouped $8.3 billion in earned benefits, including $1.4 billion in new claims in 2018 alone. Mike's foot operation has been completed, please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Chuck Bond will be filling in likely through January. Please call post if you need Chuck's contact info.
