WHAT'S HAPPENING AT EvFREE – NOVEMBER 1, 2018

A LETTER FROM OUR PASTORAL STAFF

Hey Church Family,

I wanted to update you on what’s been going on in the Junior High world, specifically on our guys' retreat last weekend. Along with 10 leaders and 5 dads, 34 boys took off for San Diego this past Friday. We stayed at a church in North San Diego County. It was so good to get the guys out of their normal routines by getting away for a weekend. Friday night we went to “AxeVentures,” a hatchet throwing range. The boys spent two hours chucking axes at wooden targets. It was epic! Thankfully, no one got hurt! Saturday, we hit up a beautiful San Diego beach and ended the night with a massive nerf war. The boys went ballistic. They loved it. Most importantly, we dedicated the weekend to study the Lord’s prayer in Matthew 6. Over the course of four sessions, the guys heard teachings from their leaders on the Lord’s prayer and spent some time reflecting both individually and collectively on what God taught them.

In Matthew 6, Jesus teaches his followers how to connect with our Father. He graciously gives His people a structure that is helpful to use. Jesus invites us to adore our Father, accept His plan, ask for needs, admit our sin, and pray against evil. Let us be a church that prays earnestly and one that glorifies the Lord with our speech!

“Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess His name.” Heb. 13:5

HAPPENING THIS WEEKEND

Sunday Night "Service"

THIS SUNDAY, November 4, 5:00 - 7:00pm
At our next Sunday Night “Service” we’ll be hosting Laundry Love at the Busy Bee Laundromat and the Quick N Clean Laundromat in Fullerton. This is an opportunity for us to love our neighbors by the simple act of paying for their laundry. Laundry Love gives everyone from our church the opportunity to get to know people in our community over the simple act of washing clothes. All you need to do is show up with an eager heart to make new friends. To sign up for a laundry location please visit the Sunday Night "Service” table on the plaza Sunday morning! For any questions please contact Mitch Fierro.

Closer Walk – Thanksgiving

This November we launch into the Holy-Day seasons as our Closer Walk Family focuses on celebrating with gratitude and joy, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
November 7 – John Coulombe, Dan Crane, and Paul Sailhamer will help us get our hearts around the command to "Give Thanks!" We will be looking at the history of God's plan for His people, our own nation's history of calling us to remember and express gratitude for God's provision, and finally the impact being grateful has on our bodies, souls, spirits, church, and country.
November 14 – We'll continue our Thanksgiving thoughts and celebration with singing from the hymnals (books with songs, words, and notes in them). Then we'll celebrate the Love Feast with Pastor John Schaefer leading us around the table as we remember the life, death, and resurrection of the Savior and that though He freely gave the gift of life to us . . . it wasn't cheap: He loved us to death!
November 21 – No Closer Walk.

Men of Moral Integrity – One of the groups that meet on our campus is Men of Moral Integrity. We recently received a note from one of the men who attends. Here is what it said: “I haven’t been coming here long, but I’ve needed it so badly. I can’t claim that I am drastically improved yet, but then again it’s only been a month and a half. Thanks for allowing this group the space to meet and process and be in community together during such a long, tough and life-changing journey.”

This opportunity is only made possible because of the facilities God has provided through the generosity of faithful people who contribute to the General Fund.
Numbers are based on an annual budget of $7 million dollars.
