ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Mary Carver Hall Herbarium at WSU is now online

Thanks to a digitization pilot project by Botany major Kris Valles, information about the collection of Utah mosses that was donated to WSU by LeRoy Behling is being digitized and made accessible through the Consortium of North American Bryophyte Herbaria.  This collection of over 2,500 specimens will be joined by the approximately 1,000 lichen specimens collected by Dr. Heather Root during her research on lichens as monitors for air quality.  The Consortium is part of the Integrated Digitized Biocollections (iDigBio) project which is funded by the National Science Foundation  The goal of iDigBio is to make natural history collections, including those in small, regional depositories, available to researchers, students, teachers, and the general public.
