Donors who wish their names to remain confidential gave a $5,000 gift to the school to support participation in after-school activities. The gift is in memory of Violet Yazzolino Petersen. While the guidelines for the scholarship have yet to be finalized, we intend to implement the use of this resource during the current school year and in the years to come.
Other donors who wish their names to remain confidential gave a $50,000 gift to the school, to be used at the Principal's discretion. The gift is from the Frances H. Ellison Fund and is made in honor of Stephanie and Kris Raugust. For those who don't already know, Stephanie and Kris are the proprietors of Whale City Bakery Bar and Grill. Stephanie is the founder and frequent supporter of FoodLab. The funds may not be used for facilities nor staff compensation; rather they are intended to promote "teacher empowerment". Teachers are currently submitting wish lists to support various instructional efforts. About half of the funds will be used to purchase new science curriculum.
