COME SEE PLANS – Georgia DOT’s State Route 25 Bridge Replacement Projects Require Detour

WAVERLY, GA. – Georgia DOT announces a Public Detour Open House meeting to discuss the proposed detour necessary to replace the bridges over Whiteoak Creek, Waverly Creek and Little Waverly Creek on State Route (SR) 25 in Camden County.

The public is encouraged to come out to view the detour details and discuss the project with Georgia DOT staff and give comments. The public meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 25 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Camden County Historic Courthouse located at 200 E. 4th Street in Woodbine. There will be no formal presentation, so stop by at any point during the meeting.

This project proposes to replace the current bridges built in 1955 with newly constructed bridges designed to current safety standard with 12-foot travel lanes and 8-foot emergency shoulders. The detour allows the work to be completed twice as fast and saves on construction cost by not changing the alignment of the bridges.

Residents can record their comments at the open house. Written statements can be submitted until Thursday, November 8 to:

Mr. Eric Duff
State Environmental Administrator
Georgia Department of Transportation
600 West Peachtree Street, NW – 16th Floor
Atlanta, Georgia 30308

After the open house, you can view the display of the project ten days after this open house at the GDOT Brunswick Area Office located at 128 Public Safety Blvd. in Brunswick. Project information will also available on October 26 on the Georgia DOT website
http://www.dot.ga.gov/PS/Public/PublicOutreach. Comment submission via email can be sent to: ProjectComments@dot.ga.gov. This is a general mailbox so be sure to include the County, PI Number 0013738 & 0013739 and meeting date in the Subject line so that the email gets to the right project team.
