A Letter from your Pastor:

Eastside launched! We are a brand new church in East Dallas.

I was just thinking about that and how astoundingly quick something in this life can go from "new" to "normal."

It can happen over night.

When we first moved into our house in Lake Highlands and got to know our refugee neighbors, it was all very new and fun. When we first had a neighbor refugee family over for dinner or went to visit a refugee family for coffee and dessert in their home it was likewise very new and very fun.

I was thinking tonight, as my boys watched cartoons on our couch with a couple boys from Nigeria, how "normal" it has now become to be international neighbors. I thought about the girls from Rwanda, Cameroon, Eritrea, and Sudan that come over to play. I thought about the boys from Afghanistan who love to play with us in the park. How all these things that have become so normal used to be, literally, so foreign to me. And in its normalcy our "neighboring" has gotten sweeter.

Everything with Eastside is brand new.

I am sure that things with Eastside will quickly go from "new" to "normal" quickly and my hope is that as our relationships, our ministry in Dallas, our routines, and our worship all become more "normal" we will see our church family get sweeter and sweeter.

Like a good home or neighborhood, like a growing family, Lord, let the longer we live and love together lead to a sweeter and sweeter church even when things are far from new!

For the coming kingdom,

Adam Griffin
Lead Pastor
On October 7th, 2018 Eastside Community Church of Dallas was born. There is so much to celebrate and so much that God did that I am so grateful for. The joy in these pictures will help tell the story as well as provide next steps for you to get plugged in, known, and serving if you aren't already.
Jasmine and Liz kindly welcomed all the new faces to Eastside.
Our connections volunteers have been incredible!

It takes a whole lot of people and work to setup and clean up Eastside Worship and Kids at Conrad each week. Please consider joining a team of Connections volunteers in making all of this possible. Sign up here.
FAMILY WORSHIP IS THIS WEEKEND, 10.28!

The last Sunday of every month we shut down our Eastside Kids programming and have everyone in the auditorium for worship together. We value having age appropriate gospel programming, AND we value worshipping together as a whole faith family. We want to do both very well.

This weekend we will also collect a special offering for a local ministry. If you have kids, this is a great time to talk to them about sacrificial giving and have them participate in financial offering as worship. If you are new to Eastside and you'd like to setup regular giving towards the ministries of the church, you can do that here
Eastside is hiring!

The Eastside board is looking to fill a full time position for a Women's Discipleship and Groups Minister. You can find the job description and application here

If you or someone you know would be a great fit for this role, we would love to talk about it!

Brothers and Sisters,

Thank you for always keeping us in your prayers. We desperately need them.

Please pray for me to have wisdom and skill as we lead our family and Eastside past launch and into our new normal.

Here are a couple of highlights from our month.
Fall is a great time to be a Griffin. These boys bring Chelsea and I so much joy.
Despite the rain, we got outside a lot in October – to the park, to the zoo, to the arboretum, and to the track.
We had some beautiful days this month.
Oscar tried his hand at cricket this month.
It's just like baseball, except totally different.
Gus told me that he had learned how to Hula-Hoop without a hoop.

Nailed it.
Theodore tried his hand at professional medicine.

This is him "taking Oscar's blood pressure."

He is "taking it" alright.

He also brought a stethoscope over, put it on my forehead, and told me he was, "looking for my heart beep."

You can learn more about the church and keep up with what is going on by checking out our new website.

Please be one of the first to follow us and connect with us on social media.
