Other Upcoming SERC & Community Events
Climate Justice Week, October 22-26

Join the MCC’s very own Garden Committee in “Reclaiming the Outdoors” where we will have an open dialogue centering the experiences of people of color and their relationship to the outdoors and how this relates to our current food regime. It will be a time for community members to cultivate solidarity as the event will move through a panel conversation with local Bay Area leaders around how to manifest agency in urban landscapes, to reconnect with the world around us, to resist and transform our food system.

All are welcome and food will be provided!

Our Panelists:

Jodie Darensbourg:
Operations Associate at Youth Outside
Kanchan Dawn Hunter:
Community Outreach Director for Spiral Gardens Community Food Security Project
Ileana Mar:
Program Director at Urban Sprouts
Ayano Jeffers-Fabro:
Office Manager, Program Coordinator & Camp ANV Admin
October 27, 2018 – PAC 12 Zero Waste Bowl Football Competition Game:
Cal has selected our 10/27 home game vs. University of Washington as our 2018 PAC12 Zero Waste Bowl Football Competition game. We are looking to achieve higher waste diversion, create collaborative program pieces to highlight zero waste at the game, and engage fans, sponsors, and the community to practice zero waste at the game and at home.  Cal Athletics has partnered with Cal Zero Waste to support and reward those who are part of the zero waste efforts.

Student Job Opportunity @ the Food Collective:

Two part-time positions are available for students looking for a job — we're looking for staff to help us build out the radical expansion of the student-driven initiative to provide the most affordable meals on campus — and minimize food waste in the process.

Positions are 12 hrs/week and pay $15/hr working for the Student Kitchen Coalition and the Berkeley Student Food Collective.
