Last Farmers’ Market of the Year, Today, Wed. Oct. 24, 3-7 pm

It is always a sad day when the white tents in the Green P lot come down for the last time. So be sure to stop by today to stock up on your honey and squashes and apples and say goodbye to your favourite farmers. There will also be delicious “goodies” handed out by the volunteers for this “customer appreciation day.” No clues what those goodies will be. Hope to see you at the market.

Volunteers Still Needed for the Best Pumpkin Festival in the City

The HVRA Pumpkin Festival, November 1, 6-8:30 pm still needs some volunteers to help out this year. It’s a great way to meet your neighbours! The Pumpkin People need folks to help pick up the pumpkins and deliver them to Harbord Street Since it’s important to keep those pumpkins lit during the night, Pumpkin Candle Lighters are also needed. And, finally, the more helpers we have at the end of the night, the faster the cleanup can happen. If you have an hour or two and can help out, please get in touch with the organizers today.

Garden Walks Winding Down for the Winter

As the evening chill settles in and the threat of frost is here, the weekly garden walks are slowing down too. As a sign of this passage, one of the walkers, on a recent walk, took this stunning photo of the sunset. Perhaps it’s a good goodbye to the walks for the season and a welcoming to other garden activities for the winter. Check out the Gardeners page on the website for more information.
