NEWS: Fall Excursions and MTAS Year-round
|
|
|
|
The problem with the phrase "tourist season" is that it implies that tourism only happens at a certain time of the year, particularly summer. It also implies that only 'out-of'state' visitors are included in the mix. However, Montana has so much to offer, in every season, for both residents and "out-of-staters"!
True, fall brings cooler temperatures to Montana, but there are also frequent warm, sunny days reminiscent of early summer, fewer crowds and ever-present outdoor activities, across the state, as colorful leaves and landscapes change! Hiking, biking (both mountain and road), paddling (particularly our lakes), wildlife watching and ghost town visits are still popular outdoor activities here among the "locals", this time of year. So if your group is visiting this fall--whether it is for a family reunion, work convention, or a familiarization tour--consider the numerous possibilities for your group activities!

Five Valleys Land Trust ~
A Non-profit Adventure
The Montana Adventure Shuttle has been proud to be a part of several local non-profit "adventures" since its beginning in 2017. From a local elementary school's raffle winners' "Lunch with the Principal" outing, to the donation of trips and tours as auction items, MTAS has been involved in education, fundraising for families of children fighting cancer, and most recently (digging back to my baccalaureate roots)--local land conservation.
Through a fundraising event held for the Five Valleys Land Trust in mid-September, MTAS donated a shuttle trip to a lucky auction winner, to the top of Missoula's Mount Dean Stone. The prize also consisted of an evening of stargazing with local astronomy professor, Mark Reiser of University of Montana, a multi-course gourmet meal prepared by Missoula's own Chef Marianne, and fun! It was a cold, but stellar, magical evening in the mountains, with ample opportunities to view the sky--a night to remember, thanks to like-conservation-minded folks like Five Valleys, their donors, volunteers, and other partners who participated in the making of this amazing event!

The Hot Springs
Pools of Montana
They are scattered all across our great state, and come in all different sizes and setups--from commercial venues in cities like Helena (our capitol), or in more out-of-the-way places, like Pony, MT. Any time of year, these wonderful, mineral-filled hot pools can bring wonder and peace of mind; yet in fall and winter, they bring something special--a natural warmth to break the chill, and a sense of belonging to part of our natural environment.
Find your "happy place", bring your family, work group, or other companions to these wonderful wet (and sometimes wild) hot pools for relaxation and/or retreats.
