Dear <<First Name>>

I was very pleased with the progress we made last night on:
Fig. 113 – 116 End of Libera me, followed by a run-through of the whole of Libera me, inc In paradisum
Fig. 30 – 32 Quid sum miser (S1, A1, T1, B1)
Fig. 40 - 49 Recordare/Confutatis
Fig. 63 – 83+ Sed sig & Quam olim x 2
Fig. 85 - 93 Sanctus (complete)

The tenors had a very successful sectional rehearsal on Monday 22 Oct and I am delighted that other voice parts would like to have sectionals next Monday 29 Oct. I’m sure that these will build confidence and bear fruit in our full rehearsals. Trish is giving details of venues and times for these. Please on pass any requests for tricky bits to cover to your voice captain, though I can probably guess some of these! If there’s time, I will of course ask for requests when we meet. The sopranos and altos have also asked to meet a bit early next Tuesday, so I have incorporated that in the list below.

Plans for forthcoming rehearsals:

Mon 29 Oct: sectionals for sopranos, altos and basses. Please see details from Trish below.

Tues 30 Oct: at Kyson
Sopranos and altos 6.45 – 7.15 - Fig. 113 – 116 End of Libera me & Fig. 40 - 49 Recordare
Everybody 7.15 – 9.45 – everything!

Sat 3 Nov: 9.30 – 11.10 at Woodbridge Methodist church – Complete run-through of ‘part 2’ (no. 3 onwards), followed by work on any tricky bits
11.30 – 12.30 - Complete run-through of ‘part 1’ (up to end of Dies irae), followed by work on any tricky bits. (Please note that there will be no interval, but I hope that in the performance we can achieve 30 seconds’ silence after the Dies irae.)

Tues 6 Nov: 7.15 – 9.45 in Woodbridge School Hall
7.15 – 8.00 Rehearsal joined by Woodbridge School Cantabile Choir, going over links between the chorus and the children’s choir.
8.00 – 9.45 Last chance saloon

Fri 9 Nov: 7.00 – 8.00 at Wickham Market School
Rehearsal of selected passages with the full orchestra, who will stay until 9.45

Sat 10 Nov: 2.00 – 5.15 at Snape Maltings
Full rehearsal for everybody – this is the one rehearsal with chorus, soloists, orchestra, chamber orchestra and children’s choir. The only way to rehearse this fabulous, but complicated masterpiece, is to rehearse it in order. It’s worth the price!

Thank you for your commitment to this tremendous project. Looking forward to seeing you all at the remaining rehearsals,
Andrew

Post Script from Tricia Turner
Andrew has very kindly offered to give extra rehearsals on Monday 29th October at the Methodist Church.
5 - 6pm - Altos
6.45 - 7.45pm - Sops
8 - 9pm - Basses
Please make use of this excellent opportunity to iron out any difficulties you may have. I know that the Tenors found very useful.
Tricia Turner
