THE BEATITUDES PROJECT - The Beatitudes Events with Stu G were amazing, inspiring and challenging! Thank you to all who attended. Exploring and living the beatitudes together as community is what we are called to do! We hope it has stirred some pondering within you. Now the challenge is to bring our parish theme to life in our lives and ministries.
One way we will continue to bring the Beatitudes to life is through our monthly focus on one specific Beatitude. In October, we have been focusing more in depth on the first Beatitude, "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." (aka: You’re blessed when you’re at the end of your rope. With less of you there is more of God and his rule.) You have seen pictures on your bulletin covers of this Beatitude coming to life in our ministries and we invited you to listen to the first episode of our Beatitudes podcast with John Konicek. If you have not listened to the first episode, you can use the player below to do so!
In November, we will be focusing on the second Beatitude - "Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted." We released the second episode of John's podcast which focuses on this Beatitude earlier this week. Use the player below to listen to this brand new episode.
Finally, we are beginning a brand new book club to help us grow in our understanding and encourage discussion around our theme. Brian Cannon, Director of Evangelization and Family Life, will lead the “St. Pat Chapter Chat” on Stu G’s book Words From the Hill on the first Thursday of the month from 6:30 - 7:30 pm. It begins on Thursday November 1. However, please note that this first session will have a time change to 5:00 - 6:00 pm due to the Holy Day Mass Schedule. The following sessions will return to 6:30 - 7:30 pm. Click here to download the flyer

We encourage everyone to take advantage of these opportunities to dive into the Beatitudes!

ALL SAINTS & ALL SOULS DAYS - November 1 & 2.  We remember all those who have gone before us, who lived lives that gave praise to God, and set an example for us to follow. All Saints Day is Thursday, November 1 and celebrates all the saints in heaven. Mass times are 8:00 am, 12:15 pm & 6:00 pm in the church. All Souls Day is Friday, November 2 and is a day of remembering all who have died. The Mass time is 8:00 am in the Daily Mass Chapel. Stop by the Books of Remembrance in the Narthex this weekend, at all liturgies, and throughout the month of November to add the names of loved ones who have died so they may be remembered in our prayers. Click here for an All Souls Day resource guide created by Brian Cannon.
COME AND SEE - Prayers for the Heart & Soul. You may have considered becoming more intentional about your prayer life but didn't quite know how to go about it. Have a sense that Jesus is calling you to a deeper relationship with him but not sure where to start? Come and See will be a chance for you to try different prayer practices including centering prayer, contemplative prayer, praying with scripture, and praying the sacred labyrinth. We will also have an opportunity to discern possibilities for on-going spiritual companioning. Join us Saturday, November 3 at 9:00 am -12:00 noon in the Church. For questions or to RSVP, please contact John Konicek at jkonicek@stpatcc.org or 480-998-3843 x102.
GIVING, PRAYING & SERVING - Thank you to all those who have made financial gifts to the parish whether in our Sunday plate or Beyond Sunday Campaign! We have a great deal to celebrate and be thankful for! Soon you will receive a friendly reminder letter of your generous support, commitments/pledges, and current giving amount (to both the Beyond Sunday campaign and the 2018 Stewardship Plate collection). Please know these are NOT BILLS, but a way for us to stay in communication with you about your generous giving. If you have questions about the letter, your commitment/pledge amounts or balances, please do not hesitate to reach out to Diane at 480-998-3843 x137 or dkar@stpatcc.org or Sue at 480-998-3843 x119 or sorlando@stpatcc.org. Thank you for your generous support!

A Podcast for Fathers
At St. Patrick, we seek to know, love, and serve God more as Christian Disciples in Mission who are Living Beyond Sunday. For many men, fatherhood is an identity that helps them live this mission out and we have a podcast for them... In "Ask a Father" we talk about Fatherhood in all its forms (Dad, step-dad, foster dad, priests, and all those who in any way act as a father to those around them). Please use the player below and enjoy this most recent episode. Past episodes are available through our Podcast Ministry. If you would like to join the conversation, email Brian Cannon, Director of Evangelization & Family Life, at bcannon@stpatcc.org!
