Volunteer Meeting: Monday, October 29th, 6:30pm, Celebration Lutheran Church, Sartell
A new partnership has been formed between Feeding Area Children Together (FACT), #unitecloud, and Celebration Lutheran Church to collect and distribute grocery items to fill the pantries of local families in need. Together, we can make a huge difference!
The Need: 1 in every 5 children in Central Minnesota are not sure where their next meal will come from. Hunger is a huge problem facing many families in St Cloud, MN. During Winter Break, families facing food insecurities often suffer the most. The cold makes it hard to get to food pantries and soup kitchens, the schools that offer breakfast and lunch and snacks are closed. Leading up to Winter Break many of our teachers report a large increase in anxiety among their students facing food insecurity, homelessness, and other family transitions.
YOU CAN HELP! We need volunteers to help us organize, collect, sort, and distribute food donations to local families in December. If you are willing to help us, please sign up to attend this important Team Meeting! We need individuals of all ages willing to help with this massive project! PLEASE NOTE: This is not a gathering to collect donations -- just to collect and organize volunteer teams! You do not need to make a donation to be a team member in this important community project!
