We welcome back Peter Pauwels, our Rural Financial Counsellor servicing East and West Gippsland regions. Peter has been a Rural Financial Counsellor for over 8 years in both Victoria and Queensland, and in between became a Rabobank Manager looking after rural and agricultural business risk, planning and growth. Peter has significant exposure and a working knowledge of a wide range of rural enterprises and their systems, challenges and opportunities within production and products of livestock; horticulture; grain and pasture. He has worked nationally and internationally with business start-ups; investment; development and growth; efficiencies; strategic planning; marketing; restructuring and staff development; quality and risk management.

A fantastic program has been launched by a team of Gippsland farmers and health providers to support farmers living in Wellington and East Gippsland.
Farmer Mentors are available to visit anytime with regular catch-ups to help support emotional health and wellbeing. They are not counsellors, but they are great listeners who understand the pressures and stresses that come with running an agricultural business.

SMALL RURAL BUSINESS SUPPORT NOW AVAILABLE
We are pleased to announce that the State Government are providing funding to expand our services to non-agricultural small rural businesses in drought-affected areas across Gippsland to help support long-term resilience and growth.
We are in the process of appointing an additional Financial Counsellor to provide immediate assistance to businesses in need including financial planning, identifying opportunities and mentoring.

DIRECT EMERGENCY RELIEF AVAILABLE
We have teamed up with Country Womens Association Vic and the Red Cross to distribute public donations to drought-affected farmers in Gippsland.
Individual donations of $3,000 per household will be made available in time for Christmas.
|
|
Thanks to our ongoing partnership with IGA Leongatha and Metcash, household relief is also available through food and fuel vouchers.

DAIRY RELIEF FUNDS
|
Coles have launched their Dairy Drought Relief fund from milk sales to assist drought-affected farmers with feed, water and other farm improvemets, support services and household expenses.
Grants are also available via their Nurture Fund towards projects to combat a future of drought.
|
|
AGRICULTURAL INFRASTRUCTURE AND JOBS FUND
Victorian farmers can access funding towards improving farm productivity, maintain market access and grow exports and jobs.
The Infrastructure Stream is for capital works and improve local connectivity to markets.
The Program Stream is for initiatives that will help equip farmers and to improve local communities with the know-how to capture opportunities and manage business risk.

FARM HOUSEHOLD ALLOWANCE - HELP WITH APPLICATIONS
RFCS will be at Centrelink in Sale 9am-12noon Saturday 3 November providing assistance to Farmers to apply for the Farm Household Allowance, as well as one-on-one assistance to help navigate through the government’s MyGov online system.
