Latest funding recipients announced

The next round opens 1 December 2018

Congratulations to the 16 recipients of the first round of $5k-$50k funding! The round was highly competitive with projects from a variety of arts forms receiving funding.

The successful applicants will share in a total of $303,208, with a further $300,000 available in the next round, which opens 1 December 2018 and closes 28 February 2019. 

To date, we have also funded 17 applicants to the new Up to $5k funding category. This category is open all year round.

Positions available at Canberra Youth Theatre 

CYT are seeking applications for an Artistic Director and General Manager. The Artistic Director is the face of the Company, leading the artistic vision and program delivery.

The General Manager is responsible for the day to day management of the Company, working closely with the Artistic Director to develop budgets, plans, and manage staff. 

Working with a committed Board, these two highly sought after positions will help drive the vision and output of the Company. Applications are due Monday 26 November 2018.

The ANCA Art Bus

When: November 2018 to January 2019
Where: Garema Place, Civic

ANCA Gallery and Studios is taking contemporary art to the community in an iconic Canberra bus. 

ANCA is transforming a retired bus into a mobile contemporary art gallery and studio space. The Art Bus will be located over three different sites across Civic showcasing contemporary art by local artists, as well as interactive art workshops for children.  

Everyone is welcome aboard to view exhibitions, chat to artists, or book into one of the free workshops. Get all the details on the ANCA website

Canberrans to share hopes and dreams for city centre 

When: 8am-7pm, Thursday 22 November 2018
Where: City Hill, Civic 

For one day only, as part of DESIGN Canberra Festival, Montreal-based artists Daily Tous Les Jours will transform City Hill into a mesmerising field of balloons. 

Museum of Possibilities is a large scale, interactive art installation inviting the community to share their hopes and dreams for Canberra's city centre.

Everyone is welcome to participate or simply relax and enjoy the festival. For more information on what's happening throughout the day, visit the DESIGN Canberra website

Australian Dance Party's Engergeia
Australian Dance Party present a new contemporary dance work at Mount Majura Solar Farm that confronts the waste of energy in ourselves and the environment. An immersive dance and music experience, the performance runs entirely on battery, solar and kinetic power. Performances are from 16-18 November and tickets are available through Eventbrite.  

Packed Lunch: Connection to People/Connection to Place
Ausdance ACT presents its sixth Packed Lunch with First Nations artist Jo Clancy, who is a descendant of the Wiradjuri people of Western NSW. Over the past 25 years Jo has created many contemporary Aboriginal dance works and education programs for festivals around the world. BYO lunch on Friday 23 November 12:30-1:30pm to Ralph Wilson Theatre. All the information is on the Facebook event.   

Australian Cultural Fund Roadshow 2018 
ACF Manager Aneke McCulloch will be running hands on workshops to take artists and arts organisations through all they need to know about fundraising on the ACF platform. Participants will be setup with a take home fundraising strategy for their next project. Sessions will take place in Canberra 21-22 November. Register through the ACF website.   

MATCH lab and Plus1 grant recipients  
Congratulations to Matt Withers, PhotoAccess, and Pro Musica Inc who were ACT based recipients of matched funding from Creative Partnerships Australia. The successful recipients will soon begin fundraising for a project of their choice. Money raised during the campaign will be matched dollar for dollar by Creative Partnerships.
