Expat? What's that?

Boom! We made it to Bali. It’s one of those places that I’ve heard about for 20+ years and now to be walking the streets is pretty wild. Staying here for 4-weeks will allow us to get a groove, check out the sites, and enjoy all there is to offer.

We really enjoyed the ITB Asia conference as visitors. There was so much to learn within the travel industry, and we walked away with a ton of information (and a few prizes). I would encourage you to check out what conventions might be coming to a city near you, you never know what you can learn at discounted rates.

Kindness and generosity. We stayed at the home of a new friend while in Singapore. He was a friend of my buddy Joe’s back home, and after a short exchange via email, he opened his home to us during our stay while he was on vacation in the Maldives. I am always impressed by how amazing people can be. It was kinda like how cool Chris Hemsworth was to a hitchhiker in Australia. Thanks again, Jon!

With the increased exposure of World Barber Shop Adventures (check out the Pattaya, Thailand episode that hit this week), I had a few VERY FUN interviews with podcasts that went LIVE this week discussing the new series, our journey so far, and life philosophies. I created a new page at https://passportjoy.com/matt-javit-interviews/ that shares all of the interviews with links to the audio.

In this week’s podcast episode, Nikki and I discuss Singapore and Kuala Lumpur Travel (2 Kinds of Awesome).

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Singapore are both great travel destinations that have their own flavor. While staying in the Bukit Bintang area of Kuala Lumpur, we had the chance to take in Chinatown, several of the massive malls, and check out the Petronas Twin Towers. There are temples to visit, tons of street vendors with spicy food, and street entertainment every night of the week.

Singapore is in a class of its own living as a city in the future. It is clean, safe, and luxurious. Beyond the beauty of the downtown area, you can visit the ethnic neighborhoods of Little India, Chinatown, and Arab Street. Singapore has been rated as the best place to work for expats and has the world’s cheapest Michelin Star Restaurant (which we ate at and discuss in the podcast). We give you the advice you need to make the most of your time in both of these beautiful destinations.

Be as kind to a stranger as Jon this week. Have fun!

Matt
