Dear Resurrection Family and Friends,

In a couple of weeks, Resurrection will be holding its annual Vestry Election. Members of our church will be voting to fill three vacancies. Each elected candidate will serve a three-year term, expiring in November 2021. There will be a congregational meeting to cast votes in between morning services on Sunday, November 11 at 10:00 am.

A quick review of the voting process: votes are cast anonymously on a written ballot. Each member is asked to select three candidates (out of a total of four) to fill the open vacancies. Ballots must have three candidates selected in order to be a part of the final count. Finally, we ask that you remain seated until the voting has concluded and the ballots have been collected. The three candidates receiving the highest number of votes will be declared elected and announced by e-mail to the congregation. At the conclusion of the meeting, please remain in the sanctuary for a Master Plan question and answer session.

If you are unable to attend the meeting, you do have the option of requesting an absentee ballot. Please contact the church office for further information. Absentee ballots will be available starting Monday, November 5 and all ballots must be returned to the church office by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 9.

We are thankful to have four very qualified candidates:

  • Patrick Baranauskas
  • Gregory Gambill
  • Brent E. Hippert
  • Jeff Merwin

Each of these candidates has made a commitment to his Christian education and spiritual growth, including regular participation in worship, church activities, personal prayer and Bible study. You can use this link to view their spiritual autobiographies. Hard copies will also be available at the "Getting Connected" table.

In closing, please prayerfully consider how the Holy Spirit is guiding you to vote. This is an exciting time of growth and great opportunity for our church. Let's all look forward, together, to see what the Lord has planned for us and who will be called to serve as a member of our Vestry.

Blessings to you,
T.J. Anderson, Senior Warden

Coat Drive for Apostles in the City

This is the last Sunday to drop off new and like-new coats, hats, gloves and scarves for Apostles in the City to distribute to their neighbors during the winter months. Many of these children don't have clothing to help them get through the coldest time of the year. Collection boxes are in the Fellowship hall and the Education trailer. Youth and small adult sizes are preferable. Please empty pockets and wash or dry clean all items before donating. Last collection day is October 28. Have questions? Email Mark Metzger.

Thanksgiving Baskets with ACTC

Help the Assistance Center of Towson Churches (ACTC) bless Towson families this Thanksgiving by donating a bag of non-perishable food items. Let the grocery store do the shopping for you and purchase a bag from one of the stores listed or pack a bag using the shopping list. Both lists are on our website or can be picked up from the ResCommunity board. We will have collection boxes in the Fellowship Hall on October 28, November 4, and November 11. All food must be brought in by the Nov 11th evening service. Learn more at resbalt.org/thanksgiving-baskets. Have questions? Email Jill Griffin.
