We have had a busy week at GCA! Our students have been learning about pumpkins and the Preschool Blue class even got to make a volcano out of one! Wednesday was Karate Day and many of our students were able to learn some of the basics of Karate. We are looking forward to the preschool field trip to Mrs. Rogers farm on Friday the 26th! Please join us for Gethsemane Church's annual Oktoberfest on the 27th. It is always a lot of fun!
There are so many activities to look forward to this week, including the Kinder-prep circus and our classroom costume parties! Check with your child's teacher to find out exactly what is going on in your class. October 31st chapel will be led by Mr. Dave. Family and friends are always invited to attend! Introducing our New Interim Administrator
We are excited to announce Sandy Rosenbaum as the interim administrator of Gethsemane Christian Academy. Sandy and her family have been long-time members of Gethsemane and she comes with extensive experience in the public school system. Our plan is for Sandy to step-in beginning next week and help us build on the great momentum of this school year. Sandy will also be working with Gethsemane leadership to prepare for and identify the next administrator of our school. Sandy’s email will be srosenbaum@glstempe.net. Field Trip to Mrs. Rogers' Farm!
Our Preschool Red, Yellow, and Blue classes will be taking a field trip to Mrs. Rogers's farm on October 26th. The field trip costs $5 and it includes a pumpkin and a snack. Make sure to turn in your permission slip to your child's teacher!

Picture Retakes
School picture retakes will be on Wednesday, November 14th. If your child missed picture day or if you would like them to retake their pictures, let your child's teacher know that they will be retaking pictures or bring them to school between 9-11 am. Order forms for retake day are available in the school office.

Veteran's Day Childcare
There is no school on November 9th for Veteran's Day. If you need childcare please sign up in the school office or by emailing Miss Caitlin.

Highlights from the Kindergarten Lion Cubs!
We had a "teachable" moment on Tuesday. We were reading our Scholastic magazine and there were some subtraction problems on the back. They wanted to know how to subtract right then and there! I explained and did problems together with drawings. Every single student caught on and they all wanted more problems. We have a very bright group of "guys"! I'm proud of all of them!

This month our preschoolers will be talking about "experimenting with pumpkins", "what is a solid, liquid, or gas?", and "circus and wild animals".

GC Moms Group
All Gethsemane Christian Academy, Moms are invited to join us for a Monthly Moms Group. We will gather with other moms for Fellowship, Teaching, and Connecting. We offer FREE childcare and have a group that meets at 10 am OR 7 pm. Our first meet up is Wednesday, November 7, at 10 am or 7 pm in the Gethsemane Church Commons. GC Men's Study
MEN’S STUDY• 6:30A • NOVEMBER 7, 2018
Pastor Troy will be leading a new study designed for men on Wednesday, November 7th at 6:30a in the commons. We will be meeting monthly and working through a study by Mark Patterson called “Play the Man.” It looks specifically at the confusion that exists around manhood today and what it means to be a faithful man of God.
