Active Bucks wins national Public Health award
Active Bucks, the physical activity programme that helps people in Buckinghamshire become, and stay more active, has been recognised nationally by the Royal Society for Public Health in their 2018 Health & Wellbeing Awards. Read the full release here.

Recent Active Lives survey results
Almost 300,000 more people are doing 150 minutes of activity a week according to new national figures from the Active Lives Adult Survey. The report also shows that inactivity levels - people doing fewer than 30 minutes of activity a week - dropped by 116,000 over the same time period.
Look for your local area results on page 22
here, please remember to look at trends not individual results.

Moving Medicine resources launched
A new digital Moving Medicine tool has been created by the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine in partnership with Public Health England and Sport England. The tool will help healthcare professionals advise patients on how physical activity can help to manage their conditions, prevent disease and aid recovery. More information on the resources can be found here.
Leap will be working with local healthcare partners to support use of the tool across Bucks and MK.

Volunteers needed to help at new mental health physical activity sessions
Buckinghamshire Mind is calling for peer volunteers, who understand how mental health problems can be a barrier to getting more active. Peer volunteers will provide support to people with mental health problems who are participating in 12-week sport and activity programmes, managed by Buckinghamshire Mind and coordinated by Leap. Anyone interested in becoming a Peer Volunteer should contact: peter.holmes@bucksmind.org.uk

This Girl Can returns
The next phase of Sport England's This Girl Can campaign has launched and aims to encourage less conventional forms of exercise.  With a new film, featuring real women showing the inventive ways they fit being active into their busy schedules.
You can get involved and back the campaign by registering as a supporter via the website and sharing their content on social media. Sign up as a supporter of This Girl Can.
