Thank You Corner:
Halloween Carnival

What a fun, action-packed week we had with all the Halloween festivities! We could not have done it without the guidance from our event co-leaders Nansee Kim-Parker and Brittany Jarabek—especially impressive since they are both new to Lakeshore—and help from our Lakeshore families with setting up for the parade, decorating the Community Room, running carnival booths, and cleaning up at the end of the day!

Our amazing team included Deb Tjoa, Heather Peterson, Noah Knowles, Lisa DeMattei, Kierstin Clickner, John Clickner, Brian Stannard, Lisa Cole, Wendi Esposto, Delilah Esposto, Allison Esposto, Lynne Herman, Natalie Rosenberg, Dara Dubosky, Laura Batie, Geoff James, Michelle San Ramon, Valerie Kefallinos, Audrey Woodsmith, Anjali Washington, Jessica Joseph, Emma Moore, Tom O'Toole, Heather Kyi, Sarah Lew, Nyisha Williams, Mr. M, everyone in the office who helped bag pumpkins, and all your kiddos!

Special thanks to the Vardakastanis family of Noriega Produce for donating 560 mini pumpkins for the whole school as carnival prizes! A round of applause to Lowell High School's Orchestra and Esther Hollander who fearlessly led the music for our Halloween Parade, Ms. Marlene for the delicious pumpkin pie to feed our hungry set up crew, and Laura Batie for the fabulous puzzle prizes. Gratitude to Ms. Jordan for the glue to finish the slime-making for our last four classes. Last but not least, a huge shout out to Mr. Gonzalez's entire class who helped us break down and clean up in under one hour!

LOST & FOUND DEADLINE: Friday, 11/16
Lost items not found by Friday, November 16 will be sent to Chloe's Closet or Goodwill. Check the rack and shelves in the lobby near the Community Room.

Many thanks to parent/staff member Rabia Chakroune for helping keep the Lost & Found area tidy during Susie Commins' recent vacation.
Parent Education Meeting Thursday, 11/15
Everyday Magic and the Lakeshore PTA have invited Lisa Bohorquez, the SFUSD Safe and Supportive Schools Coach, to talk to Lakeshore families. She will explain the behavior and discipline model used at Lakeshore and throughout the district.

Come learn about how the behavioral expectations at Lakeshore are reinforced with positive supports in community spaces and your child's classroom.

Food and child care provided!
RSVP for accurate headcount.
Fun in the Sun:
Leap Sandcastle Classic

Thanks to Mrs. Fusscas and her 3rd Grade class for participating in the 2018 Leap Sandcastle Classic on Saturday, November 3 at Ocean Beach. Teams of architects, engineers, corporations, and more work together with local elementary school students to build giant sand sculptures. Funds raised by teams and sponsors make it possible for Leap to continue to provide arts programs to Bay Area students. This year's theme was "Building Bridges." Well done!

Lakeshore Library Wishlist
Support Reading, Learning, Building and Creating in the Lakeshore Library!
Greetings from Ms. Lauren in the library. I wanted to let you all know about the amazing things your students are doing in the library, and some support that we need to be even more awesome!

All students come to the library each week to check out books, but there’s a lot more than reading happening in the library! Students also use technology and learn about digital citizenship, drawing, writing, and do TONS of origami! Grades 3-5 students can come to Library Lunch Bunch to even further explore their creative and maker interests. Lunch Bunch students read, build (using Magna Tiles, Joinks, and Legos), and create (origami and drawing).

We have created an Amazon Wish List that will help support our students:

Shop for Our Library

Click above or visit http://a.co/iemkQMw to support our library.

Many of the books on the wish list are high interest books that we can't purchase from our library vendor, or books that have been requested by students or teachers that we’d love as soon as possible. The library only has a one-time order through the district that usually arrives in late January, but there are so many new books we’d love to read before that! Also, to comply with library durability standards, all books must be in hardcover or library binding format.

Thank you in advance for your support!
