Environmental Justice Panel

Environmental justice is the fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race, color, national origin, or income with respect to the development, implementation and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations and policies. Fair treatment means no group of people should bear a disproportionate share of the negative environmental consequences resulting from industrial, governmental and commercial operations or policies. Climate change will continue to affect the most vulnerable populations first and most significantly. The Trump administration continued disregard for environmental protections has and will continue to focus environmental harms on communities least able to defend themselves. Lunch will be provided.

Bottom Dollars is a documentary that brings awareness to sub-minimum wages for people with disabilities. Join the Health Law, Policy and Ethics Project and the Civil Rights Law Practice Society in raising awareness for disabled workers' rights. The first hour will be the film screening and the second hour will focus on a reflective discussion.

Thanksgiving Partners Program

Transactional Law Negotiation Team Tryouts
Registration for Transactional Law Program Negotiation Team Tryouts will open soon. Flyers with relevant dates and a sign-up link will be posted on the electronic bulletin board and on the bulletin board outside Prof. Koops’s office (G563). Tryout materials and instructions will be made available to registrants online, and application materials will be submitted online.
 
Participation is open to 2Ls, 3Ls, AJDs, SJDs, LLMs, and joint degree candidates who have completed their first year of required law school courses. All team members must have completed Contract Drafting prior to the Spring 2019 semester. One pass-fail experiential learning credit is available to students selected for the team. Students who participated on the team in the Spring 2018 semester may participate as student coaches if they so desire, but will not receive course credit.

Members of the team will prepare for two different competitions:  the Magnolia Cup Invitational, hosted by the Univ. of Mississippi School of Law on March 1-2, 2019, and a Transactional Law Negotiation Competition hosted by Duke Univ. School of Law on March 23, 2019. Team meetings and practices will begin in the Spring 2019 semester. To sign up please follow this link».
