Hello, you persistent voting witches!
|
|
Times like this, we try to celebrate the good things when they happen, while still acknowledging the not-good things.
GOOD THINGS: We won all the WI statewide races and took back the U.S. House! 🎉
NEED IMPROVEMENT: Voter suppression, gerrymandering (we can't even) and white women (real talk), both on a state scale and national scale. 🤬
We don't know about y'all, but we're holding both joy and anger in our hearts regarding the midterms. We accomplished much, but still not enough. The path forward continues, but we're grateful we're not traversing it alone.
A hearty and grateful salute to all the Team 19-ers who voted, shared our election guide, and / or participated in "get out the vote" activities: truly, you are our heroes. Thank you for everything.
Forward!
xoxo,
Team 19 crew

People will be talking about this one for a long time, so we’re sure you’re going to want to hear behind-the-scenes stories of what happened and what the future will bring. A great way to do that would be to come see a special live post-election recording of Wedge Issues, Cap Times reporter Jessie Opoien’s political podcast.
Joining her for the taping on the second floor of Brocach on the Capitol Square will be Tony Evers’ campaign manager Maggie Gau and Scott Walker campaign senior adviser Brian Reisinger. Tickets are $10, available at wedgeissues.eventbrite.com or at the door. Seating will be limited, so don’t delay your purchase. Complimentary light snacks will be served for guests and a cash bar will be available.
