Thank you for making our 2nd year of farming a success!
We appreciate every piece of feedback, every display of patience as we dealt with curveballs, and every purchase that you've made. Hope to see you at the winter markets. Each month we'll be offering a special that we'll announce in this newsletter.
It's been a pleasure to grow food for you and your family.

Winter: What's Available and Why
- Chicken: Since we raise our birds outside, we won't have fresh again until June. We raise extra in late Summer & Fall so that we have some available in the Winter and since our birds are air-chilled, they don't soak up water during processing and the thawed meat is better than anything you'll find in grocery stores in this Winter. Frozen whole chickens and frozen pieces are available until our freezer is empty.
- Pork: This was our first year breeding pigs and we were a little late in making the love connection, and so our pork is just ready now. We also bred two sows in the middle of Summer so that we'd have some ready in February/March. It's not like we have a never-ending supply, but we should have enough of our forest-raised Tamworth pork to make you happy. If there's a specific cut you'd like to reserve, just let us know.
- Mushrooms (fresh & dried): We made the investment to insulate our mushroom grow room so that we could grow (almost) year-round. As long as we can keep the temperature above 10C, we're able to grow our cold-weather varieties. And as always, anything we don't sell at market, we dry and have available as bags of dried mushrooms.
- Eggs: The breeds of birds we chose for our laying hens are hardy, and their nesting boxes are in an insulated building. Year-round they will lay their beautiful, free-run, organic-fed heritage eggs. Eggs are only available at the farm.
- Honey: Creamed honey (in five flavours) from the hives on our farm is available until we're out. We only bring this to market when ordered in advance.
- Pizza: Smoked duck & Mushroom and Mushroom pizzas are available by pre-order.
There's less space when we move indoors, and so packing coolers is always a challenge. If there's something you're really hoping to get, it would be a big help if your ordered in advance. Here are some codes to encourage you to give pre-ordering a try....
