ANNOUNCEMENTS & REMINDERS

Early Dismissal on Friday, November 23 - A reminder that Grade School students will be dismissed at 12:20 pm and should go home for lunch before parents return to begin Fair set up at 1:30, and that all High School students will take the VWS buses down to the Grade School today at lunch to help set-up for the Christmas Fair, and will be dismissed from the Grade School at 3:15 pm. There is no After-School Program today. For students who travel by school bus, please see the Alternate Bus Route here link.
Food Bank - We have launched our annual a Food Drive from November 19 through to 30. Food banks across the lower mainland are experiencing huge shortages of contributions and empty shelves. Let's do our part by donating non-perishable items. See the story at the CBC that inspired our food drive here read more.
Hand Stitched Quilt - Donations to the Food Drive allow you to receive a free entry for a chance to win a stunning quilt that our Grade 4 class has been working on with their wonderfully talented teacher Ms Chrimes. The quilt will be displayed at the Christmas Fair on November 24. Collection boxes will also be available at the Fair - so please spread the word!
Saturday Parking at the Fair - Hillside Church has graciously offered us use of their parking lot (Next to Molly Nye House on Lynn Valley Road) on the day of the Fair. See the map for the 4 minute walk here

REQUEST FOR GREENERY

The Advent Spiral ~ our festival of light ~ is coming up on Sunday, December 2 for children in all Early Childhood Programs and Grades 1 through 3. We are kindly asking for donations of cedar and fir boughs to set the spiral. If you are able to sustainably collect any greenery and deliver it to the school before next weekend, we would be incredibly greatful.

Thanks for you support!

The regularity with which the Sun moves through the seasons, the regularity manifested in the growth of plants and in the life of animals, this regularity was once chaos. Harmony has been attained at the cost of great travail. Humanity stands today within the same kind of chaos, but out of the chaos, there will arise a harmony modelled in the likeness of the harmony in the universe. Peace to those who are of goodwill.
