The Conference of Boston Teaching Hospitals (COBTH), a coalition of twelve Boston area teaching hospitals, is seeking an Emergency Management Coordinator to assist in coordinating area-wide hospital preparedness and to serve as a resource for the preparedness staff at member institutions.  This role works extensively with hospitals in the region and plays a critical role working with the BPHC Office of Public Health Preparedness during activations of the Medical Intelligence Center to support healthcare system preparedness and response.  Please click here for more information about how to apply.  
This Month in Public Health and Healthcare Preparedness

New PHEP Capabilities Released

A new version of the Public Health Emergency Preparedness Response Capabilities was released at the end of October. These capabilities have been updated in response to lessons learned from public health emergency responses, updates to public health science, revised guidance resources, feedback from the practice community and subject matter experts, and input from federal agencies and professional associations. This document has streamlined language and aligned content with new national standards and current public health priorities and strategies. 




November is Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience Month
The Nation's critical infrastructure, including public health and healthcare, provides essential services that underpin American society and sustain the American way of life. The intent of Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience Month is to build awareness and appreciation of the importance of critical infrastructure and reaffirm the nationwide commitment to keep our critical infrastructure and our communities safe and secure. Use the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) toolkit to promote awareness of the importance of critical infrastructure. For information specific to public health and healthcare, refer to the DHS Healthcare and Public Health Sector-Specific Plan, a component of the National Infrastructure Protection Plan.
