Appalachian Winter Is Coming!
You are invited to join the CUMC Festival Chorale and Chamber Ensemble as they present Appalachian Winter, a Christmas musical, Sunday afternoon, December 2, 3:00pm in the Worship Center. The music celebrates the legacy of Early American carols and hymnody. Composed in the spirit of folk music, the musical combines traditional sounds with more rustic elements. Shaker and Appalachian melodies are woven together with wonderful texts that celebrate the Christmas and Advent seasons. Invite a friend or two and join us for an afternoon of joyful music!

CUMC Outreach – Please return your Christmas Shoebox on Sunday!
Help us achieve our goal of at least 120 Christmas Shoeboxes! We provided about 65 plastic shoe boxes to many of you in October and we can’t wait to see what you’ve packed in your Christmas shoebox for the children on reservations in the Dakotas.
Please return your wrapped and packed shoe box to Clemson UMC for a blessing this Sunday, November 11. All boxes will be blessed during a special part of each Sunday service. We plan to ship the boxes to Sprit Lake Ministry next week.
Don’t forget:
- Please include $7 to help cover shipping your box to North Dakota. (Money can be placed inside your box; checks can be made out to CUMC.)
- For cardboard boxes, please wrap your lid separately from the box. For plastic boxes, please include wrapping paper inside the box. Be sure to tape the label on the top of your lid and mark the age of the child, and then secure the lid with rubber bands.
- Didn’t have a chance to pack a box? Please include a donation for $20 (marked for Christmas Shoebox) in the offering plate on Sunday and we’ll pack a box in your honor to ship to Spirit Lake early next week.
