New Faculty Career Conversations
Join us for the inaugural New Faculty Career Conversations. These conversations are a follow up to the New Faculty Orientation and Welcome event and will provide a structure to help new faculty feel more connected and a part of the community. Each will include a different topic of conversation relevant to faculty life. Refreshments will be served. Registration is encouraged.
The conversations begin Wednesday, November 14, 2018 5:00-6:30pm, Clinical Science Center G5/122 with “Maximizing the Return on Investment in Your Mentoring Relationships.”

New Faculty Gather for Orientation and Welcome Event
Seventy new members of the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) faculty took part in a new faculty orientation and welcome event at The Edgewater Hotel in Madison on September 20. A collaboration between SMPH and UW Health, the well-received inaugural gathering aimed to welcome new faculty and build community.

Inclusive Teaching a Focus at DFMCH Faculty Retreat
Twenty-seven faculty, residents and staff from the UW Department of Family Medicine and Community Health’s (DFMCH) Madison residency program and Baraboo Rural Training Track began a deeper exploration of how identity, privilege and marginalization can impact learning during a core faculty retreat on September 14, 2018, at the Fluno Center. The UW-Madison Teaching Academy is seeking applications and nominations for new Fellows [faculty/staff applicants] and new Future Faculty Partners (FFP) [graduate student applicants].
Nominees should be outstanding faculty, staff, or graduate students actively involved in teaching on this campus who advance teaching and learning at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Membership in the Teaching Academy is an honor bestowed on individuals who have demonstrated teaching excellence and are committed to advancing the mission of the Academy.
