Hello!
Today is Giving Tuesday, a day that thousands of people around the world do something for cause close to their heart.
We've put together some suggestions, things you could do to help protect freshwater wildlife. Read more on our blog, or explore the buttons below.

Thank you  - we are enormously grateful for all the donations we receive, the good words you put in, for knowledge you share and the help that you give. Together, we can protect freshwater wildlife for everyone to enjoy.

National Trust Shines Light on Small Waters
The National Trust has a vision, outlined in their 10 year strategy; to halt biodiversity loss and restore the parts of the natural environment, some 250,000 ha of land, freshwater ponds and streams, that are in its care. This includes some notable freshwater sites, including Flagship Ponds. We're working with the National Trust to help them measure and track progress towards their vision. Read More

Buster and Molly's Guide to Ponds

The UK’s finest ponds and the amazing wildlife that live in them have a lot to contend with. At some sites, the impact of dogs in ponds is causing species to disappear. We've put together resources to help site managers and communities protect special ponds. We are running a pre-order to make larger quantities of the new leaflet 'Buster and Molly's Guide to Ponds' available. Read More

Keeping it clean - Cothill Fen
Cothill Fen, just south of Oxford, is a special place. It is internationally important, a rare alkaline fen, home to many sensitive freshwater plants and animals. But surrounded by land used intensively by humans, it’s under threat. Read more about how volunteers are protecting Cothill Fen from the growing tide of water pollution.

Flagship Ponds and where to find them

Would you like to know more about Flagship Ponds, the most special wildlife pond sites in the country? If you're on social media, you can see our #FlagshipPondFriday posts every week. You can also find details of every site we've been working with on our website. We're regularly updating the information on Flagships, so keep an eye on the website and future editions of Ripples.
