The Final Countdown

Open Enrollment is one of the most important times of the year! Remember, you can log into PeopleSoft to complete your elections 24/7! You only have five more days to make your elections, print and sign your summary, and turn it in to Therese or Lamica. Be sure to reach out if you need guidance for making your elections.

Note: The deadline for open enrollment is Wednesday, Nov. 14 at noon.

What did you do Saturday morning?

On Nov. 3, Cameron Colbert crossed the Monumental Marathon finish line before most of us finished our morning coffee! Those of you who met Cameron at Field Day know he loves being active!

Cameron is a great example of how we can get our families involved in sports and fitness activities to help earn points toward silver status in the Go365 portal. For more ideas on how to get your family moving, log on to Go365.com and click on the activities tab!

Welcome, Jillene!

On Nov. 8, Jillene Hollingsworth joined the team to help kick-off the Tableau project. She will be working closely with Randy Klopp as they strive to put together various dashboards on this software. Many departments will have the opportunity to work with Jillene to help streamline our data and continue moving at the speed of business.

Jillene will be sitting in the workstation just outside of the south conference room. When you have a chance, stop by and give her a next level welcome!

From the Desk of the Commissioner

It's been a glorious couple of weeks for Project Fantasy Football. Yours truly won two games in a row and I'm pleased to report the curse of Elaine's ghost team has been broken! Side note: Alex Miller might need some help cleaning out his desk, so please stop by if you have a moment. In other news, David Watkins seems to be making his move to the top of the standings, while Matt Saltanovitz is quite focused on reaching the bottom.

I have also been asked to retract my last update in which I implied Brock Herr and Wes Brown are substandard coaches. Although it's quite impressive that you coached the Carmel Pups to win the Indiana Elementary Football Association State Championship this year, it was your duet performance of "Quit Playing Games with my Heart" by the Backstreet Boys during your appeal hearing that truly moved me. By the powers vested in me as your commissioner, I hereby grant your request for retraction!

Fun & Games

During the early morning hours of Halloween, the Governor's fellows were tasked with important matters of state: packing Trick-or-Treat bags for the Governor and First Lady to pass out! It looks like Roger Howard was in charge of making sure the other fellows weren't too stingy with the candy!
From Nov. 16 to Dec. 30, you can celebrate the holidays with Lights at the Brickyard! This display boasts over 3 million lights on a two-mile course through the IMS infield and the world-famous 'Yard of Bricks" start-finish line! Throughout the holiday season, use this link for a $10 Speedy Pass discount or $5 off standard tickets!
From Nov. 18 to Jan. 6, you can enjoy the installation of Winterlights at Newfields! From the light display dancing on the Lilly House lawn to the magnificent finale tree, this event has something for everyone!

New this year are over 1.5 million lights throughout the grounds! Also, Sun King Brewery has tapped into the holiday spirit to offer an exclusive brew for this event! The Electric Reindeer Ale is exclusively offered when you join the crowds at Newfields. Make your plans to see Santa and get your tickets at DiscoverNewfields.org.

Flu Shots

Flu shot clinics will begin at many state facilities across Indiana. For a list of available clinics throughout the state, visit the Invest in Your Health website. The next clinic at the government center is scheduled for Nov. 29 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the south building.

Employees covered on any state medical plan will receive free vaccinations. Be sure to have your Anthem ID card and a completed waiver with you when you arrive.
