Parking Fundraiser: We are offering to park for $5 in our lot for the Brookside Holiday Season Opener TONIGHT! We are looking for three volunteers for a 90-minute shift, this evening, from 5:00-6:30 p.m. Contact Kristin Neuhauser if you can help.
LINC and Little Dragons Parents, Park in the front lots as usual. We'll be sending cars into the back lot.

Fall Fundraiser: Our cookie dough sales and donation drive are drawing to a close. All orders are due tomorrow, Fri., Nov. 9. Monetary donations can always be made on the PTA website. Please turn in all forms to your child's classroom teacher tomorrow. Thank you for helping to make this year's fall fundraiser a success! More info is HERE or email Kris with any questions.

Open Gym Party: Join us for a fun afternoon on Sat. Nov. 10, from 3-5 p.m., at Edge Gymnastics, in Riverside, MO! Play is supervised by Edge staff and parents can join in, hang out, or drop-off children over 5 years old. Admission is $5/child. Children 2 and under play for free.

City School Fair: We are looking for a parent to help represent Border Star at the City School Fair on Nov. 10, at the KC Public Library Central Branch from 10am - 1pm. This event features 50+ schools that serve families living in the KCPS boundaries including district, charter, faith-based and independent private schools all under one roof. Contact Tim if you can help.

Enrollment: Applications for the 2019-2020 school year will be accepted online beginning Tues., Dec. 4 at 6:30 a.m. More details are available HERE. Applications are time stamped and students are accepted in the order they apply. Applications CANNOT be submitted at the school. Students who are currently P3s will need to re-apply.

Yearbook Photos Needed: Take lots of photos this year and share them with our team by downloading the Balfour Image Share app (project code 925067) or email pics HERE.

Parent Involvement Matters

Our next PTA meeting has been rescheduled for Thurs., Nov. 15. WE WILL NOT MEET TONIGHT. Dinner and childcare (ages 3 and up) are provided. Dinner begins at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will begin at 6 pm. Please RSVP HERE! PTA meetings are open to the entire school body. In an effort to decrease waste, we encourage families to bring their own dishes and napkins.

If you've offered to volunteer with the PTA and have not heard from us, it is because we have several empty leadership positions including a Volunteer Coordinator. Other committees that are currently non-existent until we find a leader are Green Team, Uniform Exchange, New Parent Liason, and Spirit Wear. Really, if there's any way you want to help, we can use you. Email Leslie for more info.

Thanks go to Coach Lanning for assembling our second soccer goal, which the PTA purchased with money that you all raised! A fifth grader reported that "kids are playing soccer like crazy now". If anyone has unused soccer balls or basketballs sitting around, please send them in for use at recess. If you are interested in helping the PTA with future Health and Wellness projects, please email Leslie.
