Guys and Dolls OPENS THURSDAY
The Mercyhurst Prep Performing Arts Department presents Guys and Dolls on November 15, 16, and 17 at 7 p.m. and on November 18 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for seniors, and $5 for students.
MPS is calling back all former students, faculty, and friends from the April 1978 MPS production of Guys and Dolls for an “onstage” reunion following the final bows of the Saturday, November 17, performance. If you are a graduate of that production or are in communication with anyone from that show, please contact Art Martone at amartone@mpslakers.com for more information.
Set in Times Square during the depression era, this romantic musical comedy tells the story of interlocking lives of a high-rolling gambler, a showgirl hoping for a better life, a missionary, and a floating craps game manager. Guys and Dolls premiered on Broadway in 1950 and ran for 1200 performances. It won the Town Award for Best Musical and has had numerous Broadway and London revivals. The MPS performance of this musical will be held in the school’s Performing Arts Center.
