NAD Honors NW Native Leader |
Brian Cladoosby, chairman of the Swinomish Tribe and a Seventh-day Adventist, was honored at the North American Division Year-End Meeting for his service to the Native American work in the public sector and as an Adventist leader. He recently served as the 21st president of the National Congress of American Indians. North Pacific Union native ministry leaders, Steve Huey and Monte Church, participated in presenting Cladoosby, his wife and grandchildren with a traditional blanket ceremony, symbolizing God’s embrace. |

WWU Students Attend SAC |
Walla Walla University faculty Linda Crumley and Lynelle Ellis accompanied one graduate student and five undergraduate students to the Society of Adventist Communicators convention held Oct. 18–20 at the North American Division offices in Columbia, Md. |

Witas to Return to NW |
Mark Witas has accepted the invitation of the Oregon Conference executive committee to return to the Northwest as lead pastor at the Sunnyside Church in Portland, Ore. Mark's wife, Wendy, will become the conference associate director for children’s ministries. They hope to transition in early 2019 from Pacific Union College in Angwin, Calif., where they have been pastors for the past five years. This marks a return to the Northwest for them after serving previously in Mt. Vernon and Wenatchee, Wash. |
