Indiana State Parks are going green this Black Friday (November 23rd)! All parks are FREE admission on November 23rd so #OptOutside and look for our self-led scavenger hunt at the gatehouse. Stay tuned on the Indiana State Parks Facebook page for our #OptOutside social media contests!

Tuesday, November 27th is Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving that kicks off the charitable season. It celebrates and supports giving and philanthropy. On #GivingTuesday, you can support the Friends of Fort Harrison through your financial donations. How do we use these donations? The funds we raise help support our projects throughout the park (such as trail armoring and bridge building), pay professional development fees for the seasonal naturalists, purchase materials for programs, and support the Indiana Master Naturalist Program. You can donate to the friends through our web page at

October 20th: Observe the Moon Night
Quite a few people braved the high winds to join us for Observe the Moon night. Due to a power outage, the use of lanterns added to the ambiance. Thanks to Adrienne, Rachel, and the park naturalists for a fun evening.

October 20th: Delaware Lake Connector Repairs
Our volunteers spearheaded an effort to trim back overgrowth around the stairs leading to Delaware Lake, along with pulling out and replacing damaged boards on the wooden lake stairs.

November 3rd: Camp Creek Trail Armoring
Thank you volunteers for another mud puddle resolved by armoring the trail with limestone slabs!
