WEEKLY FOOD/SUPPLIES OFFERING CONTINUES AT SUNDAY SERVICE
Please bring an item that would be used to prepare Thanksgiving dinner for your food offering at Sunday morning’s service. Examples - stuffing mixes, boxed mashed potatoes, canned vegetables, cranberry sauces, pumpkin pie makings, turkey and baking spices, quick bread mixes, etc. Just drop your donation in the food basket on the altar, as you enter the sanctuary. Many thanks!!!
This week’s offerings will go to Helping Hands Food Pantry in Troy, NH.
HOLDAY STROLL - BAKERS GONNA BAKE
It's that time of year again..... Holiday Stroll on Nov. 17th.  We need lots of baked goods: breads, muffins, cookies and bars, candy and anything that will be easy for customers to carry home.  Please attach a suggested price as you know better, what the ingredients are.
Bring your baked goods to the church on Friday afternoon (4-6) or Saturday morning before 8:45.
Someone will be calling to remind you of the date, sometime the week before the Stroll. Let's all make this a big success!
HOLIDAY STROLL PLANS
Do you have extra Christmas tree ornaments that you’d like to donate? Spare strings of working Christmas tree lights? Garlands that have gone out of style? Karen and Susan would like to use them to trim our artificial ‘back porch trees’ and ‘table topper trees’ that will be for sale at the Stroll. Bring you donations to church any time before November 12th. The trees will be decorated during the week before the Holiday Stroll, so that they can be displayed and sold on Stroll Day. If you can, leave the ornaments in their boxes so buyers can bring them home safely. There will be a collection laundry basket placed in the fellowship room on Sunday November 4th. Many thanks !!!
HOLIDAY STROLL VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
We need lots of helpers the week before Holiday Stroll!
Please look for the volunteer sign-up sheet this Sunday after church!!! It will be passed around during fellowship hour after church service! There is a need for helpers setting up on three to four days before the Stroll date (Saturday, November 17th). There are also volunteer slots for picking up the balloons on Stroll day, working the tables on Stroll day, cleaning up and putting things away at the end of the Stroll event! Bakers and crafters are needed too. Look for phone calls or emails with more details!! Many thanks!
HOLIDAY STROLL CRAFTING DAY
Want to help put together a few nifty crafted items for the Holiday Stroll craft table ? So sorry we had to cancel the last Saturday group ! BUT!!! Our next Craft Day will be on Tuesday, November 6th at 1 PM in the fellowship hall. We will be making message garlands and mistletoe ornaments. See the prototype in the fellowship hall above the pass-through window.
STONE SOUP NIGHT
The Candlelight Vigil for National Homeless Person's Memorial Day will be held on December 21, 2018 at 5 pm at the Peterborough Town House, sponsored by MATS (Monadnock Area Transitional Shelter). We will be offering soup for attendees and any early comers for Open Mic Night. Keep an eye out for a sign-up sheet in the fellowship hall. KRISTALLNACHT COMMEMORATION
In light of the recent mass shooting in the synagogue in Pittsburgh you may want to show your support for our Jewish brothers and sisters by attending the "Kristallnacht Commemoration" next Thursday, November 8.  The following provides details of the commemoration.
On November 9 to November 10, 1938, in an incident known as “Kristallnacht”, Nazis in Germany torched synagogues, vandalized Jewish homes, schools and businesses and killed close to 100 Jews.
The Colonial Theater will be filled with community members, local school children, the chief of police and the fire chief,  international guests and leaders of the Cohen Center for Holocaust and Genocide Center for this year’s Kristallnacht Commemoration.  This event is free to the public and lasts only one hour.  In Kristallnacht Commemoration we come together to remember, to create, then to move forward as a community. We witness the past and commit to caring for each other now and in the future.  Please join us.
