From the Director's Desk
November 2018

Dear Readers,

On Saturday, November 10th, we invite you to help us celebrate the first anniversary of MetaSpace 511.

When we opened this room on November 7th, 2017, we knew you had many questions about the role of a dedicated maker space in a library. In the following twelve months, we relied upon you to help us find the answers, and to define what our community desires.

Together, we are exploring the possibilities. MetaSpace 511 remains a work in progress, and it certainly will continue to evolve over time. But we are astonished to recall how much has been accomplished during the last twelve months by patrons, of all ages, who have flocked to a space that sparks their creativity and explorations.

Please join us as we celebrate this one-year milestone. And share with us your hopes and ideas for the coming year!

Yours in Reading,

Angela Zimmermann, MLIS
Library Director

Geology at the Local Level: The Kettle Moraine Region
Saturday, November 17 at 10:00 am

Raymond Wiggers, noted Midwestern geologist, author and botanist, presents a richly illustrated talk about outstanding sites in the Badger State's greater Kettle Moraine region. The lecture reveals a dramatic slice of Earth history—from fossil life embedded in local bedrock, to some of the world’s most significant and famous Ice Age landmarks. Everyone is welcome.
